This Saturday 10/17 will be superstar volunteer Hannah’s 100th time volunteering at parkrun. Even with all of the time and responsibility of being a new mom, she has stepped up on numerous occasions to ensure our little parkrun can keep on chugging along.

Hannah has volunteered in 13 different positions a total of 99 times, including putting on the blue vest and running the show 16 different times. Thank you Hannah! by @joecreasonparkrun

Joe Creason parkrun #351 10/10/2026

What a nice crowd we had this morning under overcast skies. We welcomed tourists from Australia, the UK and Staten Island (welcome back Rory and Amy!)

66 parkrunners in total finished the 2.5 lap trek around Joe Creason Park this morning. 9 of them got their barcodes scanned for the very first time. Welcome! We hope to see you back again real soon!

A whopping 19 out of 66 finishers achieved new personal bests today, including first finisher Jordan Z who is now the 8th fastest person to ever complete a parkrun at Joe Creason 👀

Thanks as ever to the 8 volunteers who lent a helping hand today. parkrun doesn’t work without you!

Best of luck to everyone tackling the Urban Bourbon half marathon next Sat. If you’re not, come out and see us! taken in Joe Creason Park by @joecreasonparkrun

🥇It’s Medal Monday and we want to deliver a huge congratulations to our beloved co-event director Louise (@mileswithmyles502) on completing her first Ironman triathlon in Chattanooga on Sunday 🚂

She swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles and then ran about 8.5 parkruns. In the same day! 👀 An otherworldly achievement and a testament to what hard work and sticking to your training can accomplish. We’re so proud!

Louise will be back in the blue Run Director’s vest this week so give her a fist bump or better yet, join her volunteer squad for this Saturday’s Joe Creason #350. by @joecreasonparkrun

Ba-dee-ya
Say do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya
parkrunning in September

It’s on to October at Joe Creason but not without finishing with our busiest September yet. We handed out 193 tokens this month to 117 different finishers 🏃‍♀️

But Joe Creason #349 was the prettiest yet. We had sunny skies and temps about 25 degrees lower than we’ve been used to in the swamp lately. This led to an incredible 14 PBs today!

47 runners and walkers plus 4 excellent barkrunners joined us today. We were aided by 8 lovely volunteers and welcomed visitors from Canada and the UK. We hope you enjoy your time in Louisville!

Congrats to Harrison H who finished for the 100th time and well done to the following parkrunners who completed all 4 events in September

-Candy Fleigle
-Joe Vicars
-Linda Word
-Michael Schroeder
-Mike Ford
-Nick O’Brien

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and make plans to join us for Joe Creason #350 10/3 at 8:45. It’s milestone shirt day and we’d love to see you in yours! taken in Joe Creason Park by @joecreasonparkrun

Heavy metal hangover? We had an intimate crew join us this morning for the 348th romp in the swamp at Joe Creason Park, and the last of summer 2026. Long sleeve weather is imminent!

Highlights:

🏃‍♀️ 37 runners & walkers
🐶 3 barkrunners
💜 2 milestones
👋 2 first-timers
⭐️ 6 personal bests
🦺 9 friendly volunteers

Included in the 6 personal bests was an amazing effort by first-time first finisher Jordan Z. Jordan knocked 37 seconds off of his previous personal best set only 2 weeks ago, and became just the 12th different person in Joe Creason history to record a sub 18:00 finish. Incredible stuff.

Make plans to join us for the final parkrun of September 9/26 at 8:45. We’re looking for quite a few volunteers to make parkrun happen next week. If you can help, comment here or email us at joecreason@parkrun.com

Have a great weekend! taken in Joe Creason Park by @joecreasonparkrun

We don’t know about you but we’re looking for our autumn sweaters. It’s been another week in the 90s and this weekend holds more of the same.

Don’t let the heat keep you on the sidelines this Saturday. We’ll have freeze pops and plenty of shade for your post-parkrun cooldown.

We’ll see you at the bottom of the hill at 8:45 for Louisville’s favorite free weekly 5K. Walk/run/whatever. And thanks to our volunteer tail walker, nobody is left behind. Your pace is the right pace!

Learn more via the link in our bio or just send us a message. Hope to see you Saturday! by @joecreasonparkrun

Of the many, many swampy parkruns we’ve held over the years at Joe Creason, today was one of the swampiest. Well done to the 41 perambulators who took a finish token today. No one needed the AED, and everyone recovered with nutritious snacks and cold ones courtesy of Christina & Nick.

Next Saturday is tutu day (8/22). The only one in 2026. Frills not required but come on you know you wanna.

We’re looking for several volunteers for 8/22 and 8/29. Please comment, DM, email or fill out the volunteer spreadsheet if you would like to help.
