Streaming today Warmth of the Ages: 10 folk songs on grief, love, patriarchy, racism, gender identity, protest, hope and more.

With my love to all involved in the (making some tagged below) and supporting. It will be on streaming platforms by the weekend - up on Spotify now. Not on Amazon due to the treatment of their workforce, not allowing unonising (my little stand there).

The record also comes with a podcast and live films which I'll post bits of on my socials. To hear/watch them you can access the album's page through my site. The first podcast episode is with former Green Party leader Caroline Lucas; we talk about the subject of my song Green of Grasses; the Right to Roam bill that Caroline has been involved with.

The live version was filmed on the top of Kinder Scout where a 1932 protest action (The Mass Trespass!) swayed public opinion and granted the footpath laws we have today. Love to know what you think of the record.

Let's get some hope going.

Myself and my good friend Martha Wright, with support from Rhi Elgin, are running the Rise Up Artist Retreat at the Being Peace Center near Gloucester next week.

There are still spaces left and you're warmly welcome to come.

This is a week-long, multi-generational retreat for kids and parents alike, exploring what it means to be an artist, weaving together mindfulness, art, and activism.

Last night Christa Awad and I played at The Star and Shadow for the closing event of the Big Ride for Palestine 2026, Northeast. 🚴🕊️🇵🇸

Huge love and appreciation Big Ride Palestine and everyone involved in organising this remarkable event. Money was raised for Gaza Sunbirds, a project distributing food to people in desperate need in Gaza. And MECA currently running four community kitchens and cooking 13,000 hot meals every day, and they have 14 trucks delivering clean drinking water.

What a privilege to share the stage with such beautiful people — big love to Steve Pledger, Ahmed Adnan, Chandni Chopra, and Christa. 🎵
To the Star and Shadow for hosting thank you.

New little side quest

When communities gather around those who are hurting, something powerful happens.

This was never really about the money though together we raised a beautiful £1,761.80. It was about surrounding local Palestinian families with love, presence and solidarity. Letting them know they are not alone.

Organised by Born Lippy Newcastle's spoken word collective and PAR, People Against Rafael, standing for the closure of the Israeli owned arms factory on our doorstep.

Christa and I were honoured to sing together in English and Arabic, rooted in the folk music and Plum Village tradition of peace and mindfulness alongside an extraordinary gathering of artists:
