🌸 FLOWERS by Phoebe!! (“Full band version”)🥹 Her live vox recorded in our backyard.. Just for fun, and just for joy!

Her songs are always full of joy and optimism... It’s the Disney princess within 😂 and I definitely have too much fun being waaay over the top in fully sending it with all the layers of instrumentation. 🎶

Edit: She actually wrote this song a month before Miles’ Eastern Rosellas… (earlier in the year, and we even put a studio version on Spotify for her friends to listen) but now it’s school holidays and SPRING 🌺 I finally had time to record her little “full band version”.

And if I uploaded it correctly it should be on Spotify/Apple Music October 7!

🎥 I make films. Thought I’d share this one from a few years ago. My boys were a little younger 🥹 (tiny Miles!).

I shot it entirely on my phone after I saw a callout for a ‘smartphone film festival’ @sf3fest 🍿. It gave me an excuse to challenge myself… but to tell a little story about what I was observing in my kids as they played.

Their vivid imaginations would allow them to be “grown ups” and escape to new worlds.. whilst in the throes of playing together incidentally learn beautiful things. (And also fight and disagree haha).

It was a little labor of love. I remember going to the storage place and buying the largest box they had so I could turn it into a rocket 🚀 … painting it red and white. And my eldest. Jesse! He just delivers the most impressive little performance 😭 I think he was 7!!

When I rewatch it I’m reminded of the power of their amazing imaginations and I want to keep fostering this! ... and it also reminds me I’ve gotta keep making films! 🤦‍♂️ by @joelbp

I rediscovered this interview with @andrewtmcmillen 🥹 It was late July/peak week where Eastern Rosellas was exploding… It was such a sudden overwhelm on my part (as we kept life normal for Miles.. as best we could). All these weeks on, I still count it as an utter honor to have been part of bringing Miles’ song to others. Everyday I still get messages and videos from people all over the world... 😭 🦜
