I had no idea what to expect when Alex @smartmouth_designs invited me to a BBQ. All I knew was that it was right around the corner from my house (so if I was in too much pain, I could easily uber home) and that my boy @brianjhicks was hosting. I had no idea I’d get to catch up with industry legends like @jonny_oppenheimer @mastatik @elsenorhospitality. Even more meaningful to my heart was how welcoming and loving their partners were to my Hannah Bear. These women were intentional about how they included and poured into my daughter about life and opportunities and how excited they were for her at her stage of life. There’s just something extra special when I get to see women encouraging my daughter and SHAREing in the excitement of her life. That was an unexpected blessing today… Thank you again for inviting me Alex. I don’t get to get out of the house and do that much stuff but I’m genuinely appreciative when I do. by @joeldavidbarnes

10 years ago today, @soulcitychurch ‘s baptism ceremony at the lake, I got the prompting to renew my dedication to Jesus. Hannah had communicated that she wanted to get baptized and as I entered the water with her, I got the nudge to go first. I had been baptized years earlier as a kid but it was clear that it was time to double down on this commitment. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was being called into ministry. Much to my surprise, @jarrettstevens and @jeannestevens in their wisdom, told me that it was ME that should baptize Hannah. Little did we know … that baptism was going to be my very first act in ministry. Not only that but being Hannah’s dad and spiritual steward has been the MOST important part of being her father. Thank You God for the call. Thank you to my pastors for the honor and seeing ahead into where God was calling me. by @joeldavidbarnes

I share a lot about myself and the stuff that I’ve gone through. That’s the calling on my life … but I have only shared a glimpse of Hannah’s life. And I’ve surely shared nothing that she’s ever struggled through, or overcome, or battled through. But lemme tell you… this kid’s testimony will make the world a better place one day. To see how God has been there for her in her own Valley has strengthened my own faith. She started college today y’all!!! We are @rooseveltu #Lakers!! I am so proud of you Hannah!! So so so proud… Cheers to the future and the mountain tops and the journey there!! I could not be more proud of you Hannah Marie 🥲❤️🫶🏽 by @joeldavidbarnes
