today I had the opportunity to speak at epic educators about my platform teaching teachers trauma which is advocating for teachers mental health. every conversation, every classroom, and every educator matters. if sharing my story helps even one teacher feel seen, supported, and reminded that they don’t have to carry it all alone, then it’s worth it. keep chasing your dreams, keep using your voice, and never underestimate the impact your platform can have taken in Wichita, Kansas by @joelyhackmann_

Holy cow! 5 years of doing what I love 💖✨
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every client, friend, and supporter who trusted me with their memories.
Photography has allowed me not only to capture life’s biggest milestones, but also to support myself through pageantry.

Over the past five years, I’ve photographed 20 weddings and over 100 seniors, and after a lot of reflection these past few months, I knew it was time for something new.

I RAN OUT OF THE GRAVE! 🕊️
this past year of my life has been a whirlwind of emotions and so many ups and downs that social media covers. I’ve reconnected with the lord and put trust in his hands. God has shown up for me in unthinkable ways, and leading me to make decisions. Even in moments of doubt god has pulled through and shown me. I’ve decided to re-baptize my life to christ once more. i’m so thankful to continue this journey and dive deeper into a relationship with god.

failure is just steps to success

as I end my last pageant as a teen, i am truly proud of the person I’ve become since stepping foot into pageantry three years ago. this is my third miss kansas teen voltuneer pageant, and if there’s one thing i’ve learn is that dreams do not have deadlines and failure isn’t something to be afraid of. with this i’ve grown in areas of resilience, hard work, and determination to chase the next goal of mine. although I didn’t walk away with my end goal, I walked away with more confidence then I ever have before. a little fun fact of the day with pageantry is some years you win some and loose some, and at the end of the day you are human. this is simply god just saying “this is not your time yet”. as isaiah 60:22 says “when the time is right the lord will make it happen”

what doesn’t get talked about the most is that it’s a huge leap of faith to walk on that stage and preform. we step outside of our comfort zone, chose the town we represent, give our time, energy, our hearts and so much of ourself to this experience. I could not be more proud of every single girl that stood on that stage.

as I end my time as Miss. Basehor Teen Volunteer I filled with gratitude. the miss kansas volunteer organization has shaped me into the person I am today. when I stepped into the miss kansas teen volunteer pageant three years ago I didn’t know how much I would grow as a person. what makes the miss kansas volunteer organization so special is the sisterhood and the state directors, and that’s why I keep coming back year after year. madi & jaci, thank you for loving me over the past years your unwavering support means a lot to me, as well as the hard work you put into the system.

thank you to my coaches faith, emma, jorge, kat & amber for the mock interview, walking lessons, and ultimately being there for support when I needed it.

i’m so excited to step into my next chapter of life when it comes to pageantry. let’s go chase the dream 👑✨💖

i’m a little over a month away from completing for the last time has your miss.basehor teen volunteer. over the past 3 years i’ve been truly grateful, blessed, & overwhelmed with the amount of support, scholarship money, partnerships, and love. without the support of my two businesses @joelykayphotocollective + @heartofkcweddings_ I wouldn’t be able to keep doing what I love the most. as i step into the stage I want to show every single girl that hard work + determination is one of the biggest life lessons i’ve learned since starting my pageant journey in 2023.
