Our first cover star for our Spring/Summer 2026 issue is none other than the iconoclastic Prince.

Marking 10 years since he struck his last purple-laden chord, we are going all in on the flamboyant musical genius.

Across four (Four! Count ‘em!) features and 24 pages we examine Prince’s colourful and unique legacy through the lens of electronic dance music. Featuring contributions from the likes of Kevin Saunderson, Jamie Principle, Mark Moore, Hifi Sean, Alexis Taylor and more, we assess the debt that artists across every genre from techno and house to hip hop and drum’n’bass owe to the man from Minneapolis.

Kate Hutchinson speaks to those who fell under Prince’s spell early on; Joe Muggs celebrates his Imperial Phase; Simon Price picks 30 gems from his later years and Balearic Mike heads right to the heart of the dancefloor with a selection of choice of edits and remixes.

This party might not be meant to last, but let’s go crazy while it does…

Pre-order our Spring/Summer ‘26 issue now via the link in our bio.

Yes it’s me, the middle class white guy going to the arse end of town to find a canteen with no English signage to eat hand-pulled Lanzhou beef noodles because an influencer told me to.

Well worth it tbh. Thanks @tomsbigeats and anyone in Southampton go and seek them out. Not going to say they’re life changing or anything but it’s a bowl of deep satisfaction worth going out of your way for. by @joemuggs

One week digital. Lots from last months Bandcamp column. First ever time listening to Neutral Milk Hotel and I don’t think I’ll be rushing to repeat the experience. It was like someone took all the bits of both Bob Dylan and Radiohead that I specifically, personally am allergic to and rammed them together into some sort of massive whiney Frankenstein. Anyway, that aside, lovely music.

Jesus, time flies, meant to post this ages ago. So two months ago our neighbour @ades_guitar had an album launch for @thesurge_band - and they were super heavy, but I was prepared for that. What I wasn’t prepared for were the support - @bitterselfexploitment - who I am now completely in love with. Totally life affirming and I think it’s fair to say ENTIRELY unique.

All together now: “OH SHIT! IT’S MANKY GEOFF!!!” by @joemuggs

I have spent so much effort training my kids to nod sagely and say “ah, breakfast of champions” when they see someone with incongruous items in their shopping basket - but who is there to do it for me? No sense of public duty left in this godforsaken country. by @joemuggs

Found a shock solution to the perpetual middle class problem of accumulating tote bags that just fester inside other tote bags on a coat hook and you never remember to take out shopping and feel guilty about.

Today is #bandcampfriday, give my new song ‘Dalaman’ a listen (link in bio) and, if you wish, support the release by downloading it.

Alternatively, you can also give it a listen on @rovr_live where @joemuggs kindly featured it in his Multiversal Discernment programme.

There will be more news soon, but in the meantime, receive the balmy warmth from Dalaman and beyond. Stay tuned.
