Standing outside Treasure Island Toys watching my daughter jump up and down in front of the window — I felt pure joy and pride.

She wasn’t just excited to see our dolls. She was excited to see me achieving something big. And she saw something that should be normal for every Asian child: being seen, being valued, being celebrated.

Growing up, I rarely saw faces like mine on toy store shelves. That absence shaped how I saw myself.
Today, we’re changing that.

With hateful rhetoric on the rise and DEI efforts being challenged, representation matters more than ever. Seeing our dolls in that window isn’t just a milestone — it’s a statement. Asian kids deserve to be reflected in the world around them. All kids do.

We can’t stop now. We have to keep going. ❤️

Hispanic Heritage Month may be one celebration, but it represents so many cultures, communities, histories and traditions. ❤️

There is no single Hispanic experience.

At Joeydolls, our Hispanic representation currently begins with Mexican culture through Mateo and Xochitl. They were created with input from Mexican families and community members, but we know Mexican culture is only one part of a much bigger and beautifully diverse community.

Our hope is to keep expanding the cultures and stories children can see reflected in our world.

Because every child deserves to grow up seeing their identity as something worth celebrating. ❤️

What does Hispanic Heritage Month look like in your family?

As more families fell in love with Mei, we started seeing the comments, messages and requests for a Chinese boy doll, too. ❤️

That question eventually became Jun.

He started with sketches, early samples and lots of revisions as we worked to create a doll families could feel proud to bring home.

And now Jun is available for preorder.

Comment JUN and we’ll send you the link. ❤️

Not every kid gets to see themselves in their toys 💭

We’re changing that, one playdate at a time 💗🌍

At Play & Ponder, we believe every kid belongs. When little ones play next to friends from different cultures, their world gets a little bigger, and our community gets a little stronger.

Meet Danbi 🇰🇷, Hoa 🇻🇳 and Soriya 🇰🇭, our Joeydolls friends. Sweet rain, flower and sunlight. They remind us of so many of the beautiful kids who walk through our doors.

Whether your child is a climber, a cuddler, a builder, a dreamer, a sensory seeker or a quiet thinker, there’s something here just for them 🌳✨

So, have you checked out Play & Ponder yet? 👀 Tell us below!
💗 Been here? Tag a friend who needs to come play.
🌱 Not yet? This is your sign. We’d love to meet your little ones!

So many Filipino parents grew up without a doll that looked like them.

For the next generation, we want something different. ❤️

Representation isn’t only about a toy. It can be the moment a child sees their culture reflected in something they already love. And sometimes, it means just as much to the parent who never had that experience growing up.

That’s one reason we created Malaya.

And when families started asking us, “What about our boys?”, we knew we needed to keep going.

Because Filipino girls and boys deserve to grow up seeing themselves, their families, and their culture as something worth celebrating. 🇵🇭

Did you have toys that reflected your culture growing up? What do you wish you had seen?

We’re coming up on three years since our very first Joeydolls shipment finally arrived in December 2023. ❤️

After all the dreaming, designing, sampling, and waiting, we could finally hold the dolls we had wished existed for our own children.

This Thanksgiving, we’re especially grateful for every family who has welcomed a Joeydoll home, every child who has seen themselves reflected in one of our dolls, and every educator, retailer, friend, and supporter who has helped carry this mission forward.

Thank you for being on this journey with us and for helping more children feel seen, celebrated, and proud of who they are.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian community. 🍁❤️

What’s one milestone, big or small, that you’re grateful for this year?

Filipino culture can live in the little everyday moments. 🇵🇭❤️

Sharing a family story. Cooking a favorite dish. Learning a new word together. Bringing culture into the toys, books, and activities our kids already love.

These small moments help children build connection to who they are and where they come from.

And we made something for your little ones too. ❤️

Comment FILIPINO and we’ll send you our FREE Bayani + Malaya Filipino coloring sheet.
