1 3 V A L L E Y S

It’s taken us a whole week to recover from our event blues because 13 Valleys was just SO good!

A huge shoutout to our sponsored athlete and all round wonderful Joey’s employee, Vicky, who smashed the 2 Valleys on the Sunday and Mike, our neighbour at Low Wray Campsite, who took on the 5 Valleys on Saturday AND the 2 Valleys on Sunday which makes Mike one of just two people to have completed all four 13 Valleys races. What a hero!

We had the best time serving some tasty treats, fresh draught beers from Fell Brewery, soaking up the atmosphere and cheering everyone on!

Back in the day, Joe would load up the cabin and head off to weddings, providing some of the best wedding vibes and coffee around, So it felt very Joey’s to be back at it.

Here’s a little look at what we get up to behind the scenes of our usual café chaos. This weekend we packed up Joey’s and headed to the beautiful @windermerejetty to feed a whole load of lovely wedding guests.

Champagne poured, people fed, cheese piled high and a frankly magnificent pie tower built.

Did someone break into said pie tower before we got a proper photo of it? Yes.

Are we taking that as the highest possible compliment? Also yes.

To our big boss man, Joe.

Another year older, another year of keeping Joeys going through sheer determination and an endless battle with fridges, freezers and anything else with a plug.

Still endlessly funny, still taking far too many pictures of deer, still somehow everywhere at once, and still running the biggest independent chain of cafés in the Lakes.

You really are the best.

Turns out we took “coffee by the lake” a little too literally…

Thankfully, the ones we serve stay firmly in the cup.
