These photos, courtesy of retired Secret Service Agent @john.constantineonezero were taken during then Vice President Biden’s visit to Baghdad, Iraq, in 2009.

Pictured are members of the Secret Service Counter Assault Team (CAT) in tan BDUs alongside U.S. Special Forces operators in Multicam, standing in front of one of Saddam Hussein’s former palaces.

Due to severe dust storms, the team was unable to fly and instead traveled by motorcade from Camp Victory down Route Irish, once considered one of the most dangerous roads in Iraq, notorious for IED attacks and sniper activity.

After arriving at the U.S. Embassy, the team immediately got to work, bringing the motorcade vehicles back to a spotless, inspection-ready shine.

There’s something to be said about have great men in important positions. Unfortunately we see people rise to power who don’t merit, respect, or truly comprehend the responsibility of those seats. They then use them for power, control, and personal gain.

Sometimes we need good people in high places. If good people sit idle and don’t fill those seats, the wicked will assuredly do so. They want every single one.
