Stoked to get a few healed pics of this piece I made for my good client @marchhelooo The original design is from a 1700s Japanese wood block print. We modified it a little to fit the space, then free handed the background tree. Thanks Bro!!! #KapitiTattoo #ParaparaumuTattoo #WellingtonTattoo #MonstaTruckTattoo #JapaneseTattooNZ JapaneseInspiredTattoo taken in Monsta Truck Tattoo by @john_monsta

A Kasa-obake is a traditional Japanese umbrella-shaped yōkai (spirit or monster) that belongs to the tsukumogami class of animated household objects. I made this one for fellow tattooist @_kbtattoo Thanks Bro! #blackandgreytattoo #yokaitattoo #MonstaTruckTattoo #JapaneseTattooNZ #JapaneseInspiredTattoo taken in Monsta Truck Tattoo by @john_monsta

Thirty years tattooing, and I’m still excited by the next idea.

I work with people on everything from smaller individual pieces to large tattoos designed to flow with the body. Have a look through some of my work, and if you have an idea in mind, send me a message. Tell me what you’re thinking, where you’d like it and roughly how big.
