i am wrapping up my first couple months in oklahoma, and i honestly can’t stop thinking about it. moving to oklahoma from florida felt like a wild leap at the time, but now it feels like the first real decision i made for me. that boy, who was scared, confused, trying so hard to be what everyone else wanted, would be so proud of who i’m becoming.

growing up, the constant pressure to succeed made it hard to believe i deserved anything good. i spent so much time trying to outrun who i was or who i thought i needed to be. but education has a funny way of breaking you open and building you back up, and somewhere between late-night study sessions and learning mountains of material, i started seeing myself more clearly.
