Thanks to everyone that made last night possible. From the #heartthrobtrio @masonthegooding @itsalgee @keithpowers and all the rest of the actors that graced us with their talents on screen, to the hard-working crew in Tulsa that powered through a month of overnights, to our brilliant DP @velvetcellardoors, our boss of an editor @daybroadway and our wizard of a composer @jongnic, to the producing teams that put it all together @iamrandywayne @taliabellawayne @garyglushon @lanancy114 @rosskohn to the team at @lionsgate @ameliamcp @therealalikuriyan tayanna_t and @kammiekane827 that championed our project, and to the legend @vanderjames — we were so fortunate to work with you and we miss you dearly, but you were undeniably with us last night. I can’t wait to show this to the rest of the world. taken in Westwood by @johnburr4

Sending love from our community to yours this holiday weekend.

Keep sharing your stories everyone!

Monday’s screening of @gatesmovie at @petits_salons began with a live performance by composer and artist @coreyvogeln, whose gestural drumming and kinetic artistry set the tone for an open hearted evening. Thank you to filmmaker @johnburr4 and everyone @lionsgate who gathered to watch and engage in meaningful dialogue about race, politics, religion, and identity.

The conversation that followed the screening deepened our understanding of power, belonging, and representation. With the recent loss of our friend and star of the film @vanderjames we were reminded life is too short to not take those leaps of faith.

Celebrating artists and staying connected in love of our humanity is more important than ever.

The salon series is hosted and curated by @jamesaaronoliver @darbygaellehannon @sarah_carter_oxox and presented by @blkbrdfilms @cheshiremoonproductions.

Looking forward to seeing you at our next gathering. ✨ by @johnburr4
