Big news - ❇️ 100 Things You Love to Draw ❇️ is live for pre-order! This is expansion to my book Drawing is Magic which has now been in print for 11 years. It focuses on finding your visual voice through the enjoyment of making. All the big book sellers are taking preorders. It collects wisdom from my 20 years in the art classroom @washuivc and @washusamfoxschool with brainstorming and drawing exercises for all ages. I know all doodlers and makers will enjoy it regardless of if you’re just starting or a seasoned pro. 〰️〰️〰️✍️ by @johnhendrix

Every artist has an engine, but what fuel does it need to run? ⛽️ Try adding something from your 100 Things list. Great ideas can come from simple inspiration.

⏳It takes a long time to be good at anything.⌛️Drawing especially. So how do you survive the hundreds of hours it takes to learn your craft? You create a practice built around enjoyment. It seems simple but when we enjoy our drawings, the drawings get better! by @johnhendrix

Stew is on. 🍲 In “100 Things You Love to Draw,“ I help young artists find their own voice through the exploration of their own visual culture. Each of these influences are one ingredient that creates the visual archive which we ‘draw upon’ for ideas, images, and stories. #visualculture #archive (Sam Fox Easter egg @washusamfoxschool) by @johnhendrix
