The July photo bundle. Haven’t done a monthly highlight post before, but it’s been too long since the grid was graced! Life is full, and this month was a reminder it can always be moreso. Grateful for the moments I get to spend with good folks. taken in George Washington Bridge Toll Plaza by @johnjackwalsh

These are the final submission photos taken by the phenomenal @maxypaintsminis for the 4 Year Anniversary of @dm.stash , taken about 3 hours before the contest closed at midnight PST 😝 we were really burning the midnight oil to get these out. No better motivator than a deadline!

Go give Max a follow and scroll to the end to see his fantastic work. Those tiny fingers! And he handmade that bamboo! 🍃

These were printed on an Elegoo 3D resin printer at a later height of 25-30 microns. The difference is definitely noticeable I just don’t always have patience for prints to take twice as long!

I recently entered a painting contest for the Fourth Anniversary of @dm.stash miniatures, and was thrilled to make the top ten finalists through popular vote!

Just learning to slow down and work with intention was a big step for me on my journey with miniature painting. Not to mention describing texture, light, learning how to apply glazing, etc. I probably spent around 15-20 hours on this miniature, more than I ever thought I could spend on a single figure: even starting over when I painted too heavily and fast on my first sample.

I should shout out @maxypaintsminis for being an amazing mentor and friend and recommending this contest in the first place! Also the photography 📸, which I’ll post the final results next.

Hoping this page can be a good home for updating my journey in the hobby. Thanks for coming with me! 🖌️ by @johnjackwalsh

Something they would tell us in art school all the time is “maybe 1 in 100 of your drawings will be any good— but you have to get the other 99 out of the way before you can get to it.” Boy, did I feel that tonight! A really unique drawing session tonight was exactly what I needed. Here’s to getting those 99 out of the way ✏️ by @johnjackwalsh
