I wasn't ready for her to go...Seems none of us were...Rationally,it is a time in our lives after such a long&beautifully lived life when passing away can be expected... But she meant so much to so many&it seemed to me she was always there...bestowing that beautiful voice...at once revolutionary,yet familiar...as if a primal memory in our DNA...recognizing an almost other worldly effortless beauty every time she sang...even into old age...that voice never seemed to fail us...I got to work w/her...my brand new puppy (blue heelers are pretty feral as pups)...&actually diarea'd in her vocal booth to which Dolly responded,"Bless her heart"...🤣🥰 I of course was in awe of her,&she put me at ease right away,just as kind,funny,sweet&as solid a proffesional in the studio as U would hope she was...I was blown away to learn that she hired me for my vocals which back then was a rarity for me...&for such a singer to feel that way was so humbling to me that I have carried that fact as one of the proudest moments in my life... But it was as we were going over the song,(George Strait "Today I Started Loving You Again"),right there in the control room,she was sketching out her part&just singing to me was like opening Marcellus Wallace's shining briefcase in Pulp Fiction...or drawn Excaliber...It was more than distracting...It was very difficult for me to connect so godlike a voice that I had always heard growing up...in so many different genres...singing just to me in a pretake huddle...I liked to think I hid my shear awe at how effortlessly she could just plunk down a vocal of such gossimere&silk...She was aware certainly that I was far less experienced&was dutifully,or rather kindly,a mentor to me...Her ability to sing as if God wanted U to know the beauty of a gorgeous morning,&then resume her everyday conversational self was a lesson I've tried hard to profit from...I will never forget U Dolly!!...None of us will...none who have known U,barely met U or merely heard U will always cherish the way U made us feel better by all U have done for us...for women performers,for musicians and for music...💔🖤😢 by @johnjhonfofohniam

Our first month from Red Rocks to the Hollywood Bowl has been a hectic&successful adventure!! All through out the west...RedRocks was such fun as always!!...Then we joined our friends Spin Doctors&Gin Blossoms to start our western leg of our summer tour...up thru grand junction where a fire was bravely fought off by local fire crews...up thru Oregon&Washington State,where I got to sleep in my own bed for 5hrs for last time in months...or Vancouver up in Canada for the tail end of the FIFA celebrations that were so joyous...Down to way up in SLC...the highest elevation of our year...then finally thru the desert&the warmth of the Reno crowd...down to the california coast thru Rohner Park in the bay area...&then finally to the Hollywood Bowl...I swear I thought we'd played there before...then right before the end of the show I realized I was remembering the LA Greek theater&then realizing"Holy Shit We just played the hollywood bowl!!"😅 After a couple of days off...We hit the Brookfield Zoo outside of Chicago then another in Quincy as we crossed the continent to begin the eastcoast leg starting tonight!! The west is always the hardest travel as everything is so dang far away...Added to that I developed an ear ache right before the start...My ear is still a bit clogged w/fluid but it's much better&my voice is now about as strong as it should be normally...Was great to have Gidget Popper on alot of the western leg&Weezy even jumped on the bus in Cali...and even my brother from Budapest&my sister from MT and a ton of cousins saw us off at the start✊❤️Now we are in Maine&raring to go!!🤘😝 #Letsdothis!! 🇺🇸 by @johnjhonfofohniam

Said farewell last sunday as she heads off to camp after our 2weeks at my house doing absolutely nothing!!😍 She is ten years of magnifice...and she's got quite a summer ahead of her &we figure she'll be chasing around the world so much this particular summer we should compensate by cranking the "lazy" knob&doing our best "Finn&Sawer"...we needed it&are now raring to tear it up😜!! Of course got waylayed for a few days...I got a covid/flu vax that kicked my ass hard!! Brutally bad earache sore throat,nausea explosive diarea...clearly the throat&ear acting up means infection...I mean I took a vax to NOT get sick...finally well enough to get up to colorado was thursday😅...I z-packed it&was making slow progress but RedRock's own family rock doc Dr.Buzz looked me over&upped the antibiotics&cleaned these ears🙄turned a major corner this morning&am feeling froggy enough to bump my ass a hoppin' as they say...And now we're both ready for our summers....U go Weezy!! The differences in private aircraft can vary quite alot as evidenced by this last week's variety...we don't use them often...but routing sometimes requires them...I've learned that I'm just too fockling old to get used to one,&not quite rich enough to get used to the other...😅#traveliseightypercentofthegig #whatadifferenceaweekmakes by @johnjhonfofohniam
