When I visited the set of #TIRES I found an easter egg in Phil’s office* that isn’t usually visible in the show: a framed photo of young @shanemgillis which adds a little authenticity to the scenes between “Shane” and his dad

*aka the office of Steve Gerben’s dad, who owns the real-life tire shop that TIRES rents space from taken in West Chester, Pennsylvania by @johnjurg

This man. José Castro. One of one! A force for good and a 💯 unique character in the lives of hundreds of kids, his community and the huge BROOKLYN BONNIES baseball family.

We just thought he’d always be here, a forever coach. It’s crushing to lose him so suddenly and tragically.

One of his many dugout shouts is also a reminder for life—“A little sense of urgency!”

Rest easy José 🧡🧡🧡 we’ll always be grateful by @johnjurg

George Lucas released the first three Star Wars movies in a span of 5 years. It’s taken 15 years to create the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, opening next year in LA. To make one of the most challenging projects of his lifetime a reality, Lucas relied on a clutch collaborator: his wife, Mellody Hobson, the museum’s co-founder. They’re the honorees for this year’s WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards in the category of design. Gift link to the story in my bio. Thank you @mellodyhobson and #GeorgeLucas for your time and the grand tour!

And thanks to everyone who put this package together

When I first met Paul Walter Hauser a year ago in Philly he was wearing a satin jacket with his name on the back and prepping to take on a pro wrestler dubbed The Death Machine. In other words, not your typical Emmy-winning Hollywood actor. It was a lot of fun hanging out with him. And from the POV of someone who’s been interviewing showbiz people for a long (long) time, it was v refreshing to do that with someone so inviting, candid and, well, human as he carves out a career that doesn’t resemble anyone else’s. So thank you for that @paulwhausergram 🔗 and thanks for the pics @tbonefletcher by @johnjurg

When an unlucky airplane passenger explodes in Wes Anderson’s new movie, he leaves a prim pair of legs buckled into the seat and an artful spritz of blood on the cabin wall.

“That’s my version of real. And in this case, it happens to be this guy getting blown to bits,” said the filmmaker, 56, conducting an interview in a white seersucker suit.

Anderson is known for the meticulous way he arranges people and objects in every frame of his films—which makes the rough stuff in them stand out.
