If you aren’t trying to get better, you’re trying to get worse because nothing stays the same.

I used to use gym time as me time. I also used to think that when McFly video conferenced in Back To The Future 2, that the future would be cool. Now my gym is on Zoom and I’m one of those little boxes AND it is saving the year.

Movement is key for me (us). I set a goal two and a half years ago to do a free standing handstand. And while it’s debatable if I’m there yet (gotta hold that $&@! longer), the range of skills needed (handstands are in the legs?!?) and process have been invaluable.

Set a long goal and take it day by day.

I’ve also been struck by how many of us have new hobbies. And how many of them are portable! For those of us, musicians and civilians, that travel for a living, to be able to bring the gym on the road and have classes and a community that will be with me in hotels make me feel grounded. This is one of many covid wins. Back to basic and into the ether.

Lastly on this rant. My coach (one of many, fortunately) Leo Trinidad has brought the humble sauce on all levels. He has no ego, but amazes at every turn. So much gratitude for him as a coach and human. It’s worth following him just to be wowed.

Ok. Back to time on hands...

It was nice to take the weekend to reflect and see the huge response to David’s first two singles! “Shaken” and “Promised Land” out now! This project has given light to an otherwise strange and, at times, dark year. David has been all in on his first endeavor outside The Revivalists and I’m so proud to be a part of watching this vision come to be. He’s used truth and positivity as guiding forces all along and, to me, it comes through in the music. I’m so happy these are in the world!

I have to also say that the team effort across the board has been nothing less than top-notch... David and his band have made such real relationships over the years that when we ask, people respond. We are gonna notch one here... by @johnmorganyoung

I’m a week late to this post, but the benefit of that is I can say that it’s not just me who loves this song! Michigander’s ‘Let Down’ is out! The reaction has been massive. You will hear this song and not from me! Big love to Jason, the whole band and team! @jasonsinger @michiganderband @thatfrenchiebeauregard @theadamesmith @drewneedssleep @c3mgmt @russellbrand @hiitsmejoeg @larrywebman by @johnmorganyoung

We’ve all been learning and growing in our own ways through the $#^! show that is 2020. Like it or not. It’s been an opportunity to spend more time with our (immediate) families and with ourselves on the one hand and had our livelihoods challenged, incomes halted on the other. One thing I have admired is watching my friends and clients find their ways and the boys of Maine have truly risen above.

Welcome ‘Good at Losing Everything’! I’m so happy the new record is out in the world, it gives me all the feels. From the moment I heard Wild Child I have been in love with this band.

The Ghost of Paul Revere is a band of brothers. To be among them is a great honor. by @johnmorganyoung

I have to give it up for all the amazing artists I have the pleasure of working with and knowing. They are digging DEEEEP and making beautiful art. I had a conversation yesterday that left me more inspired than ever to do great work and to listen. Business is in the toilet, but much bigger things are happening. It’s our chance to plant seeds and grow our lives and business in new ways. To make change. We are changing. We will be stronger. I can’t wait for the world to hear these banging seeds! I didn’t know what pic to use, but I built these beds and planted some seeds :-). #therevivalists #davidshaw #opiuo #theghostofpaulrevere #dava #michigander #flamingosisters by @johnmorganyoung
