OCEAN — John Butler (Cover)

This song is very special to me.

I remember hearing it for the first time when I was fourteen and it has stayed with me ever since.

My interpretation of it will keep changing and developing, and though it would take me a million lifetimes to play it like John Butler, I feel very lucky that this song has been a part of my life for so long, and will continue to be forever.

This version is a mix of elements from The ‘Tin Shed Tales’ live album, the 2012 studio recording and The ‘One Small Step’ live album, with a few of my own touches along the way.

Thank you to Phil Kearney and the team at @dontpokethebear_geelong for letting me use their space to record this. by @johnnygardnerr

What a beautiful whirlwind this has been 🏖️
Twelve days to put Mamma Mia! The Musical on at the Star is no small feat, but with this incredible cast, crew, creative team and band, the whole experience felt seamless — a true testament to everyone involved. Had a lot of fun on this one! @mammamiagc by @johnnygardnerr

Feeling incredibly grateful to have been the Assistant Musical Director for @stellathemusical . Being part of a new Australian musical and contributing alongside such a beautiful, talented group of people is something I’ll cherish for a very long time.

A special shout-out to @vickyjacobsmusic — It was such a privilege to watch you in your element, doing what you do best, and to witness firsthand the massive impact you had on this project. Thank you.

And @julzybabes88 - thank you for simply being one of the best humans ever. You’re amazing.

Two day ‘learn by ear’ guitar challenge - ‘Morning Aire’ by Tommy Emmanuel. Still plenty of holes, but this tune is VERY fun to play. #takimineguitar 🎸 🎶 by @johnnygardnerr
