'The Park Across the Road'

This is my most recent painting that will be included upstairs in the Taylor Galleries Summer Group Exhibition (June 12th - July 4th)

Alongside the summer show is a solo exhibition on the ground floor of Siobhán McDonald (June 12th - July 4th) and another solo exhibition upstairs of Sian Costello's work curated by Eamonn Maxwell (June 12th - Aug 15th).

15 years ago, our motto - FITNESS IS LIFE was seen as a bit extreme, almost counterculture.

The idea that fitness could and should be integrated into our lives in such a massive way like it is in 2026 was a bit outlandish. Seniors, post natal, 530ams, kids, the whole gang lifting.

We were in it, we knew how it felt so we pushed forward with every bit of energy we had because we just needed to show everyone how it felt too.

Graffiti is another counterculture activity that was a big part of my life growing up. If everyone was going left, I went right.

In the early days of the CrossFit scene, Graffiti art was interwoven into the fabric of the “box” culture. Most of the time, a start-up was a on shoe-string budget and everything about it was a true expression of the owner’s passion for community and fitness.

Today, the (probably somewhat outdated) appearance of interior Graffiti continues as RÓNIN grows.

In a modern world with more business and less authentic passion, easy access to bank loans, slick lighting and big-budget interiors, our style is still going strong and will continue to as long as RÓNIN exists.

We have to stay true to our DNA and - like our style or not, as the industry continues to develop and change, I think it’ll become more and more of an individual look.

Or maybe it’s just a little tip of the hat to the OGs. The ones that keep the old school magic of CrossFit alive in their own way as we evolve and develop our training, operations and services and continue to serve our people with pride and long term vision.

Massive shoutout to @johnoreillyart a friend and artist through the ages. Our get togethers are mostly based around art in new RÓNIN gyms these days! It’s always an amazing few days of catching up. by @johnoreillyart

Solo Exhibition - Walkways of the M50

Very excited to show some new paintings in the RHA Asford Gallery, Dublin.

Opening night Feb 12: 6-8pm

Exhibition runs - Feb 13 - Mar 15

The exhibition explores Dublin's M50 motorway as a threshold between urban and rural, a landscape of tension, texture, and quiet beauty found within the banal edges of the city.

Walkways of the M50, focuses on routes incorporated into the M50’s design to enable pedestrian access over or under its constant torrent of roaring traffic. The paintings present the quiet and stillness of pedestrian spaces within noisy environments built to accommodate vehicles. The M50 is a city fringe. Overlooked edge-lands where urban and rural meet. Homogeneous yet local, landscapes of tension and banality, with a wide abundance of textural variety.
