Paintings of banal and overlooked places
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Our midweek work from the 195th RHA Annual Exhibition in association with McCann FitzGerald is this painting of the Tolka River beneath the M50 by John O’Reilly.

Niall MacMonagle, writing in last weekend’s Sunday Independent, said of the painting:

‘The Tolka Under the M50, a beautiful, shimmering, light- filled work, captures a location that might be considered boring by many. The location is off Dunsink Lane, by the M50, Junction 6. Over the last two years, O'Reilly has been interested in "edgelands, places directly attached to the motorway: waste ground, spaces under bridges, aqueducts, support facilities, places where wildlife thrives, random items and litter gather.’

The Annual Exhibition is available to view anytime online with many works still available for sale.
