Took the win @icarus_uk_ 04 with the @therealracingdoris today, we were the oldest pair but still managed to come out on top, this lady is a savage competitor but so bloody humble, brilliant 👌, supported by @cavemantraining 💪 by @johnpdean82

From international competition to the DEKA arena, John Dean’s journey is one of relentless self-improvement.

Originally from a running background, John progressed into duathlon—representing Great Britain twice. That drive for performance eventually led him to hybrid fitness. After discovering HYROX two years ago, where he’s now stood on the podium seven times, his path brought him to DEKA.

In just two years, he’s already left his mark.

John stood on the podium twice at the 2023 DEKA World Championships in Florida, and his focus hasn’t shifted since:
“I’m motivated to just be better than I was yesterday.”

His favourite event is DEKA FIT, a format that plays to his running strength, and he’s got his sights set firmly on breaking the 32-minute mark. With DEKA MILE and ATLAS coming up soon at Caveman Training, there’s more to come.

For John, the environment matters just as much as the results.

“Caveman Training is full of like-minded people—it pushes me to be my best.”

At 46 years old, his proudest achievement isn’t just podium finishes—it's knowing he can still stand shoulder to shoulder with athletes half his age and compete at the highest level.

Huge 6 weeks coming up finishing with the DEKA world championships in Florida mid December, couple of races to tick off in between after success last weekend at HYROX Birmingham, hoping the body holds up 🤞, thanks to @vickiveedean for the continued support ❤️❤️ by @johnpdean82

Hyrox pro in London last night, 2nd place in age category with a PB of 1.04, next stop world championship in France in June .

Last night wrapped the uk season up for me, my first in hyrox, 5 competitions & 5 podium finishes so I’m happy with that,
this sport asks so many questions of you so well done to everyone competing/training ,thanks to @vickiveedean for the continued support & everyone from @cavemantraining also,got to give @becmasonpt a shout also who’s switched my training around & give me focus when in my opinion I was not at my best in Glasgow, laid that to rest last night 👍👍 by @johnpdean82

11th at Trentham 10k with a PB of 36.48 over a minute faster than last year a week before my 45th birthday, think this hyrox training is helping after looking for a different bit of training 🏃👍 by @johnpdean82
