Deadly Dozen launched its 2026 UK season in Macclesfield this weekend, welcoming over 1,000 athletes across its divisions.

In the Female Solo, Rachel Hodgkinson was able to overcome an early mistake to claim another podium as she warms up for the UK Champs.

Liz Peapell followed up her Birmingham victory last year with a new PB and another podium. Emma Stanley was impressive in her track debut, have done some Deadly Gym events, to take third spot.

In the Men’s Podium we saw a battle between athletes making their debuts. Jude Reynolds was able to best Ben Key, John Dean and Danny Rae amongst others.

All of the athletes who made their debuts yesterday were impressive in testing circumstances. Here’s hoping that most can make the UK Champs next month.

The level of competition just gets better and better.

From international competition to the DEKA arena, John Dean’s journey is one of relentless self-improvement.

Originally from a running background, John progressed into duathlon—representing Great Britain twice. That drive for performance eventually led him to hybrid fitness. After discovering HYROX two years ago, where he’s now stood on the podium seven times, his path brought him to DEKA.

In just two years, he’s already left his mark.

John stood on the podium twice at the 2023 DEKA World Championships in Florida, and his focus hasn’t shifted since:
“I’m motivated to just be better than I was yesterday.”

His favourite event is DEKA FIT, a format that plays to his running strength, and he’s got his sights set firmly on breaking the 32-minute mark. With DEKA MILE and ATLAS coming up soon at Caveman Training, there’s more to come.

For John, the environment matters just as much as the results.

“Caveman Training is full of like-minded people—it pushes me to be my best.”

At 46 years old, his proudest achievement isn’t just podium finishes—it's knowing he can still stand shoulder to shoulder with athletes half his age and compete at the highest level.
