POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just wrapped up a week long run with @draytonfarleymusic as we got to provide direct support for @willienelsonofficial across Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. I would like to express my immense gratitude to Drayton for including me in the band for the past few months. This was a legendary time and I am gonna miss getting to live in these songs. The band, @jimmy.teardrop @currywinborn @jake.smelley along with @cbmofficial and @ariehsamson y’all made this unforgettable and so musically satisfying. Thank you. I need to extend my thanks to Mr. Willie Nelson and Family—thank you for the comfort and generosity of spirit. I will remember and attempt to conduct myself with the same level of professionalism and excellence y’all modeled for us every day and night. If you’ve read this far I implore you to scroll to the last video because the way Willie has always played Georgia is the correct way but this band will show you that the bridge can make sense and the chords really should go to the four before sharp four on those A sections. 🫶✌️#touring #musician #bassplayer #fenderbass #ernieballstrings by @johnphilipallen

Finished up this run of shows with @draytonfarleymusic including a headline show and four support shows with Mr. Charley Crockett and his great team and inspiring band. Feeling fortunate to be doing what we’re doing out here and having a blast playing Drayton’s songs. His new album “A Heavy Duty Heart” comes out 3.27.26 so y’all go pre-save and support great music. taken in Bojangles Music School by @johnphilipallen

Popped out West for a week with some of the coldest MFs from up North— @noelinehofmann and her Badland Baddies. Add in @fonky_honky and the wonderful @koah_chanel and it was a good time all around. Safe travels in Europe y’all! by @johnphilipallen

The wonderful @kimrichey treated the crowd this afternoon at the @hamiltonparkhouse concert series in Staten Island, New York to an intimate performance with stellar support from @johnphilipallen & @samhawksley (sorry guys, we couldn’t fit ya in the shot!). Here’s Kim performing “Chapel Avenue,” from her latest @yeproc release, “Every New Beginning.” 👏✨💖

Kim Richey at the G.A.R. Hall in Peninsula, OH. I’m in this area all the time photographing the Cuyahoga Valley but this was my first time ever catching a show here. It’s a neat little historic venue!

Thank you Kim for allowing me to photograph the show and playing “The Way It Never Was” for my obnoxious father ‘Eddie’ haha! We all know how it is wanting to hear your favorite song though.

Climbed in a van with a couple strangers this past weekend and played for the first time with @draytonfarleymusic at @unbrokencirclefest. 10/10 would recommend — here’s some 0.5x stage video from the set. Thanks for the call @alex_be_lyon 🫶 great band: @jimmy.teardrop 🎸 @bodds_by_dadford 🥁 @ariehsamson 🎛️🎚️ by @johnphilipallen

Finished the last of the dates I have filling in for the great @alex_be_lyon with @noelinehofmann this past weekend. I’ve had the pleasure of covering the American shows over the last two months and it has reminded me how much fun it is doing what I love and am great at. Thank you to all of Noeline’s team for welcoming me onboard and making me feel welcome. See y’all down the road. ✌️scroll through to see me rope my own calf 😅 taken in Somewhere On The Road by @johnphilipallen

This past year has truly been one of the most vibrant years in my life. From raising our daughter and appreciating the joy and wonder that a two year old brings to every moment to recording albums for artists I love and believe in; from touring and improving as a bassist and background vocalist to celebrating 3 years of marriage. These past 5 years in Nashville have been tremendous and I can’t wait for the ones ahead.

I am proud of the work I’ve been fortunate to be a part of and I am proud of the challenges I’ve overcome and worked through as a musician, as a father, and as a father. I’m so grateful to be in this life—to get to make music every day and to do it all in step with my wife, Rose, and daughter, Margo.

Thank you to all the artists, producers, and creators who called on me and trusted me with their music. Thank you to everyone I have been able to share a stage with. 2025 is going to be special and I look forward to making magic through music with many more people in the year ahead.

Wishing everyone a safe, fruitful, and harmonious new year! taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @johnphilipallen

One of WoA’s favorite voices, @kimrichey, brought her magic last night to Ringwood, NJ for an intimate performance at Live at Drew’s, accompanied by @aaronleetasjan on guitar & @johnphilipallen on bass. Here she is (with Aaron) performing “Every River,” from her sophomore album, “Bittersweet.” Thank you for the terrific show, Kim, & thank you to Drew for being such a great host! 🙏💛
