After much reflection and a well needed break, I’m proud to say I’ve graduated from The University of Rhode Island. It’s crazy how far life has brought me, all the wins, all the losses…everything was absolutely necessary. I’m truly blessed and I thank God for bringing me this far. But I didn’t come this far just to come this far, I came to become the person I was always meant to be. Every setback gave me perspective, every victory gave me confidence, and every challenge reminded me to keep believing. Thank you to everyone who stood beside me throughout this journey. This isn’t the end, it’s simply another beginning. #GoRhody 🐏💙🩵🙏🏽

If you had told the younger version of me 10 years ago that I would start and actually finish this journey in track and field, I never would’ve believed you. There were plenty of moments in life, and in this sport, that tested me and made optimism hard to find. But track taught me the value of showing up every single day, even on the days I didn’t feel my best, because giving up would’ve hurt more than failing ever could. My goal was always simple: become a little better than I was yesterday.

To my teammates and coaches, thank you for believing in me through it all. This journey has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life, and I’ll always be grateful for it. And while this chapter is coming to a close, this is far from the end, it’s just the start of something new! #GoRhody 🐑💙 by @johnsantos1018
