TEAM JEC at Regional Finals!

The Johnson Equestrian Center IEA team competed at Regional Finals this past weekend, facing off against the best riders in Regions 6 and 10. Qualifying alone was a huge achievement, and our riders gave it their all.

Friday - Adult Competition:
Amelia placed 3rd in her flat class in a fun “sparring” event.

Saturday - Individual Competition:
Anna placed 6th out of 23 in over fences.
Ashley advanced to finals in flat and placed 6th.
Delilah took 2nd, earning a spot at Zones next month. Congratulations!
Vivian, Emmalene, Chloe, Maddie, and Leah rode beautifully in highly competitive classes.

Sunday - Team Competition:
Ellie placed 5th in over fences.
Vivian placed 4th in flat.
Kaia placed 6th in crosspoles.
Anna placed 2nd in flat.
Lizzie placed 5th in walk/trot/canter.
Their combined efforts secured 4th place overall for the team—an incredible accomplishment for a team only in its second year. The future is bright for TEAM JEC!

Equestrians can sometimes be critical of each other due to a combination of competitive nature, high standards, and the unique challenges of the sport. Riding is often seen as a reflection of discipline, skill, and attention to detail, which can make people quick to point out mistakes or areas for improvement.

The sport also fosters a community of perfectionists, where individuals may feel pressure to perform at a high level, leading to judgment from others who share the same drive for excellence.

Additionally, equestrian events like shows and competitions often bring out both friendly rivalry and intense scrutiny, amplifying the tendency for criticism, whether it’s about technique, equipment, or horse care. Despite this, most equestrians are passionate about the sport and ultimately aim to help each other grow, even if the feedback is sometimes blunt.
