Super fun job.
First time client and she was a BLAST!! @darbywoods
We had fun caring for these mature trees.
Thinning out what was once a Christmas tree now 40 years later a full grown Stone Pine that has had many children climbing it limbs and holding memories.
One of the best parts is hearing all the stories that surround a tree’s life.
We LOVE DOING THIS!
Thank you for entrusting us with your tree care Darby!!

Hi Everyone,
This is Nicole Gyarmathy.
I post for Johnson Tree Company.
Eli gets a few shout outs every now and then . He’s harder to capture because he doesn’t care about being in “the lime light” .
But every now and then I have to stop him and I have to ask the present experience to please , let me take a picture or a video.
Because what I have witnessed over these past 19 months of getting to work with his crew is so touching. The stories I hear from clients of 40 and 50 years are detailed memories of the beginning. The Grandfather and the father of Eli.
The history here is deep. It’s full of earned respect from both sides.
This picture is of Eli Johnson @treemanjohnson 3rd generation tree man /Certified Arborist with long time client from Eli’s Grandfather, Everette Johnson.
Dr. Barrett shared with us a story about when he was younger, he worked for Baskin Robins 31 Flavors on Swarthmore in #pacificpalisades and would see the Johnson Tree Co crew walking up and start hustling because he and his co-workers would have an order of about 20 milkshakes to make and serve. He respected how Everette took care of his guys. Dr. Barrett was so impressed that when he bought his home , he knew who would care for his own trees.
He has used our local, family owned and operated tree care business for 40 plus years.
What a relationship!!
Example is EVERYTHING
The way we walk in the world is our example.
I’ve witnessed this respect among this crew and the trees and the clients first hand for 19 months.
Moments like these make all the difference.
Being reminded how it all started and how damn lucky we are to be here.
Grateful for the stories and clients who take the time to share them.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that gratitude and hope can grow even after the hardest seasons.
🍀💙
We created these beautiful GRATITUDE TREES with Johnson Tree Company. Come by The Pali Trading Post, write your own gratitude tag, and help our trees continue to grow.
🍃💙
Thank you to our Pali High staff and Ellie (visiting home and rebuilding) who shared what they are grateful for. Your words are a reminder of the strength and heart of this community.

We have cared for these two Melaleuca trees for 35 years and we do the same thinning out and shaping everytime. THIS year was different. We were dealing with two different trees . They had changed drastically. They had been through a fire. Fierce wind and heat. Flames. They were charcoal black deep within the layers. Fortunately these trees were intentionally cared for by the homeowner over the last 18 months as they recovered for today’s pruning and removal of burned branches.
The outside layers still soft and cushioned.
The feel of a healthy tree that fought to stay rooted .
Caring for trees is always an honor. Being a part of one’s recovery is a sacred feeling.
Serving this purpose has given us more than we ever expected.
The exchange of respect is a deep emotion, an unspoken recognition of one’s worth.
Nature knows its worth. We are the ones who must learn it and remember it.

The Stories today ……
The connections ♥️🩷♥️🩷♥️🩷

The recovery efforts are still very much in need.
The stories that were shared with me today as we stopped at each address to help with some kind of burned plant materials, or trash , are STILL so full of emotion.
People are still processing their childhood homes burning . Childhood memories of their grandparents tending to their yards and gardens. Trees they climbed with their friends and fell from. First broken arms and wishing their own grandchildren would have swung from those same branches.
OR, the story of the family building their FIRST HOUSE that would HOME many precious moments to feel forever.
Generations of Memories!!!!!!!
And people are still fighting with Insurance to pay them so they can CLEAN and CLEAR while experiencing other intense life loss at the same time.
In every direction we are looking to who we can trust to help support our moving forward.
Who will follow through?
How do they stay?
This clearing, this cleaning is about making space to move forward. Having some clarity.

Yes, we came out to prevent getting any fees/fines and to prevent more fire danger.
But the depth of it is making room for the new.
Looking at a lot where your house used to be buried by overgrown plant life and burned trees just hurts. A yard that once was so blissfully tended is now nothing recognizable .
We cleared some space and made some room today.
There is still so much more to do, but we came #together to pay respects to our town.
Our Gardens
Our hearts

Our land deserves to be respected.
We showed that today.
We all tended the land today.
WE SHOWED UP! ♥️🌲🌻🌳🙏🏽
My wish is always that we #continue to be aware of how we walk this Earth.
I saw young teens out today picking up trash and bagging debris with smiles and pride.
How can we all stay #connected to our role in supporting a thriving Planet?
Thank you @team.palisades
@cd11.foundation
@americangrowersco
@traceyp1

for bringing us together to share in the clean up.
The awareness of protecting this MAGNIFICENT land clean and alive!!!! 🌲🦅🪺🐦‍⬛🌺🌻🦋🌳 by @johnsontreeco

We were hired to remove a beautiful and vibrant colored Mexican Purple Plumb tree.
We trimmed and shaped this tree three weeks prior in hopes the Insurance Company of this homeowner would continue to insure the home .
Unfortunately they required the homeowner to remove the tree in order to continue insuring the house.
As tree lovers , we did hug this tree and THANK it for all its many gifts before we started engineering the tree to stump level.

Incredible honor to work in these majestic trees 💚💛 and with the Ladies of this neighborhood.
We had no idea the popularity of these 3 mature Canary Pines.
They were infamous for dropping their heavy pine cones on the windshields of cars parked anywhere near them.
They were known for branches falling in driveways and sharing their needles with the whole street.
So when we pulled up and started making noise, every door opened and we had an audience of smiles.
More than happy to get to share in community and care for the safety of everyone involved, including the safety, care and containment of our
