I’m Joia, the eye behind Preppy Vintage @preppyvintageatx ⛵️ A Connecticut girl in Austin, Texas with a soft spot for things made well and meant to last. I’ve spent years sharpening my eye, and I bring home only the pieces I truly can’t leave behind.

Austin’s preppiest vintage edit. Rooted in New England, inspired by the places, people, and things that make preppy style timeless — sailing, summer cottages, Ivy League campuses, club stripes, monograms, brass, and a good old-fashioned sweater thrown over the shoulders. The goal is simple: pieces that feel classic, collected, and like they’ve always belonged.

Preppy Vintage is my edit for your home and your closet. Follow along - new finds will be washing up every month, available via DM, with pop-up markets throughout Austin.

xx Joia

Checked something wild off my list today!🚁 I flew @liftaircraft with the Austin city skyline as my backdrop!

This is a battery-powered eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft with 18 propellers that you control with a single joystick. No pilots license needed, and way more safety features than you’d expect (which def put me at ease!). The future of flying is here (and soon coming to a city near you!). If you’re in Austin, you can try it right now at the Long Center. Would you?

Birthday watercoloring + tea party vibes 🎨🫖 Thanks to @hinckley41 for being the best bartender / server / chef for some truly elite service.

I started my birthday at the gym, voting in the primaries, attending a rally and somehow making the New York Times! Feeling very grateful for all the messages and love from near and far. Thank you to everyone who reached out and made me feel loved, and to these beauties for spending an afternoon with me to kick things off 💛 Scroll to the end for some very special guest appearances from my friend’s kids. The birthday month isn’t over yet - more celebrating ahead!!!

MY SISTER IS MARRIED!! Allegra, you were the most beautiful, calm, and hilarious bride. Even with a literal nor’easter raging outside, you stayed in the brightest spirits, ready to marry Steve. Standing by your side that day, I felt so proud—and so lucky.

“Leggy” our passenger princess, world traveler, and someone whose heart and curiosity uplift everyone around you. You’re an incredible teacher to all the children you help inspire, a caring soul, and someone who lights up the lives of everyone lucky enough to know you. I am endlessly proud to call you my sister.

Steve, welcome to the family. Finally, I have a BIL who gets our antics! Here’s to a lifetime filled with laughter, love, and chaos together. I love you both! Enjoy honeymoon #1!
