I was asked what are the five things I’ve learned in my 30 years of being a literary agent so I’ve attempted to list them here. I’m sure you will have others and I’ll be interested to to hear your five Rules.

Hope this helps!

The question I get asked the most as a literary agent is whether I would prefer to receive a manuscript that is brilliantly written or has a brilliant premise?

Here’s my answer.

Hope it helps.

Here are some very simple guidelines.

Two rules to avoid and 3 to adopt. Hope this helps.

Please do join me for an evening of reflections of my time working with John le Carre at the Acorn Theatre, Penzance in November. It’s on behalf of @morrablibrary - a library close to the author’s heart.
I am very much looking forward to sharing some of our correspondence that has never been publicly available before and talk about what it was like to be so close to one of the world’s greatest writers. What he taught me and continues to even now - 6 years after his passing.
