Presenting Sanya Minocha & Hannah Wiskari!
This performance will feature carefully curated Ragas and Bhajans (devotional songs) that celebrate the auspiciousness of Diwali.

Their set will blend the melodious sounds of the saxophone with Indian Classical vocals, guiding you on a journey of sound. This fusion will foster deep insight and healing through sacred music.

This performance is part of our Living Arts lounge at this year’s Diwali festival. Two days, two concerts and an exhibition of our Living Paintings throughout.

Saturday 31st November at 2pm - Waitakere rooms Aotea Centre. This is a free entry event courtesy of @aucklanddiwalifestival

We will also be honouring them with our most beautiful set design yet! As you take your seat amongst the plush Jalsaghar setting, turmeric lattes from @motherindia.care will be brought to you to enjoy. A beautiful way to spend a Saturday afternoon ✨

Sanya Minocha is a Holistic Coach & Counsellor and Indian classical vocalist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Originally from India, where music was never just an art form but a path to the divine, she has learned to express depth through sound and the sacred path of self-discovery. This lived experience fuels her music and guides others.

Hanna Wiskari is a Swedish saxophonist whose musical roots lie in Nordic folk traditions. With a distinctive soprano saxophone voice, she has performed extensively with various ensembles and projects. Since moving to Aotearoa, Hanna has become a leading force in fostering intercultural exchange through music, co-founding Ethno New Zealand and Arts Connections Oceania. taken in Aotea Centre by @jonohislop_

All we can say is WOW Tāmaki! 🔥✨️🌹

We are blown away by the magic you all brought last week. The spice was off the charts, the joy and laughter sung, and what struck the most was the depth of sincere vulnerability that was brought to the mic.

Thank you so much to all the brave souls who got up and bared it all, sharing their beauty with the full house. We are still resonating in the love that was shared 🙏❤️

This Wednesday, 2nd Sept, we are back 🔥
In a few days the fire will be lit again, salt lamp glowing and the mic live. We can't wait to share and hear your tales - hot, spicy, loving, tragic, funny, embarrassing, full of aliveness, heartbreak or longing. All of it welcome!

Here's a few BTS from our first Spicy Open Mic Night back in May! 🎤🔥
We wanted to create a space where the erotic and the tender could sit side by side. Where you could read your dirtiest limerick and then someone else a heartbreak poem, and both get met with the same open hearts.
Turns out Tāmaki was hungry for exactly that. The room was full, the fire was roaring, and the stories kept coming long past when we planned to close the mic.
Round two is nearly here and we cannot wait 🖤

Our first spicy open mic night was a sell out and boy did you guys bring the heat, the soul, and the giggles!

It was such joy to collab with the talented @jonohislop_ ⚡️I video called him 1 month before @foresthealingfestivalnz, shared my vision, and asked him if he was in. “I’m in”, he responded, with not much info, other than my excitement 😃 The pieces were still forming, and all we knew was that we were being guided. With full trust, we moved forward.

Jono is playing in Raag Bhairavi on the sax.

Art for Kahika - Oceania

Part of the Avalokita EP, where we made music to match an artpiece.
In this song, we evoked the atmosphere of being far away from land, floating on a perfectly calm sea. The song was loosely inspired by Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and features @tarqbowen 's amazing voice, as well as smooth slide guitar from Johnny Lillis.
