Sending tremendous love and congratulations to my brother @miguelgandelman for your incredible work at the 2026 Bad Bunny halftime show…winning you the Outstanding Music Direction at the 79th annual Emmy awards! Thank you for including me as part of your team. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

And a huge congrats to the live and broadcast sound team and the much deserved win of an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Mixing for their incredible work making it all come together on the day!

I’m honored to have participated in this process on the studio side and to have mixed the tracks that Benito, Gaga and Ricky Martin performed to.

I must say that though it’s rare that we find ourselves working on projects that receive such profound recognition, this project felt different from the start. It felt like a freight train chugging down the tracks, with the most driven and focused creatives flying down the rails with it, and we were all just privileged to be on board.

Congrats to all involved! Thank you Miguel for being the giant you are. Thank you @sharafentwistle for your assistance. And thank you Benito. by @jonrezin

About last night…. I’m still floating.   It’s one thing to get the chance to work with some of the world’s biggest stars, it’s entirely another to have the chance to contribute to something that carries so much meaning for so many. I’m not only speaking about our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico who are getting an opportunity to shine on a global stage, unapologetically Puerto Rican, unapologetically American, but for us as a country.   I’m continuing to learn what this performance meant… both in terms of symbolism and the story that took place, but what it meant in the lives of so many of our Spanish speaking brothers and sisters. People who, right now, have targets on their backs… One thing I can be sure of, celebration can be a form of self care… and celebrating Puerto Rican identity, culture, and value on the world-stage has opened people’s hearts and given others the permission to feel they too can celebrate who they are.   Bad Bunny is one of the best there is… and his message of love, celebration of diversity, and recognizing our diversity as a source of strength that should bring us together, is one of the most timely messages we need right now. Last night, we were all united. In love, in culture, in music, with Puerto Rico.   Thank you Bad Bunny for bringing your heart and message to this world stage.. @ladygaga for killing that salsa version of Die With A Smile, @ricky_martin for delivering such a poignant version of Lo Que Le Paso A Hawaii, and thank you @miguelgandelman for entrusting me with helping you deliver your vision. I am infinitely humbled and honored to have played a small part in this incredibly important moment.   - Jon  p.s. I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback on CRATE in the last couple days… And a lot of great questions about how it works.

Here’s a basic rundown of the app. (More depth covered in video):
- 60-90% smaller sends, receives and storage
- Completely lossless pipeline
- Files are verified on send and receive
- 100% identical to what you sent
- DAW agnostic. Files relink perfectly

Some of you may know that I created a new archive format called crate… But what some of you may not know is that, aside from making sessions and audio 60 to 90% smaller, it does it lossless and it can be used for session backups. Such a rush to see my work on one of the biggest stages in the world. Congrats to Karol for being the first and being unapologetically Latin. She is kicking the door open for so many who will follow after her.

One week since we soft-launched Crate, and the response since has been incredible. 🙏🏼

For those that move massive sessions between studios, collaborators, or continents, CRATE 📦 is a lifesaver. It losslessly transforms sessions and audio into 59-89% smaller packages (Crates are significantly smaller than ZIP or RAR) and restores bit verified on the other end!

so…. I never imagined this day would come…  but I’m thrilled to share that my first audio tool is out in the world.  This came as inspiration as I am constantly dealing with challenging internet at the least opportune of times and yet deadlines have to be hit as many people are depending on the work arriving on time.  I’ve also been working with a number of incredible creators from developing countries and I regularly hear about the costs of data and how it can be a huge burden. They have to make unthinkable choices.. eat that day or send the session. This isn’t a choice that should have to be made.  I cant fix the internet or all the world’s problems… but what I can do, is fix what we are sending.  I’m honored to share CRATE with you. 📦

I built Crate because a 4 GB session shouldn’t cost someone a day’s pay to download/upload. In much of the world, mobile data runs $3–10 a gigabyte — and it’s often the only connection there is. So a producer in Lagos, a mixer in Manila, an engineer on a mountain in Medellín all hit the same wall: the work is ready, their bandwidth isn’t.

And if you’re a digital nomad living on café Wi-Fi and hotel networks? This is your unfair advantage.
