Earth Day is a reminder of the responsibility that we all have to leave wherever we go, better than we find it.

Seemingly small efforts, made consistently over time, create significant impact. 🪝

I am immensely grateful to be a part of a community that is so committed to our islands and our oceans. In honour of Earth Day we had a really rewarding reef cleanup at the wreck of the Gamma, our second reef cleanup for the year. 💙🔱

We even rescued a longspine squirrel fish. 🎣

Someone had hooked the fish and somehow managed to get it pinned against a piece of coral, unable to free itself. We lifted it from the coral it was pinned to, gently removed the hook, and slowly it swam away. It's uncertain if our little friend will survive but underwater wildlife is remarkably resilient and we have hope that we will see it out on the reef thriving again one day.

It's our planet, let's celebrate it, not just today but everyday. 🎉 🌎

Tag your dive buddy in the comments and if you're interested in joining us, get in touch, we will see you out there. 🪸 🤙🏼 taken in Cayman Islands by @jonschutte

Some moments are meant to be felt, not just seen. 🔨🦈

Yesterday, the ocean reminded us exactly why we do what we do. While celebrating Issy’s birthday with the team at Ocean Frontiers, we were gifted an encounter that felt more like a myth than reality. Seeing a Great Hammerhead glide through our Cayman waters—wild, unbothered, and ancient—is a visceral reminder of what’s at stake beneath the surface.

We don’t dive just to witness; we dive to protect. 💙🔱

Big mahalo to the Ocean Frontiers crew for being the kind of humans who respect the reef as much as we do. It takes a certain kind of spirit to protect a place like this, and I’m grateful we got to share the day with people who get it.

Happy Birthday, Issy. May your year ahead be as deep and untamed as the blue. 🥂🥥

Patience in the presence of a Queen. 🔱

This is Jawgina, a Fuvahmulah legend. She is massive, composed, and carries the weight of a dozen hooks left behind by those who didn't know better. Seeing an apex of this scale navigate her world with such grace—despite the marks we’ve left on her—is a heavy reminder of why we do what we do.

We don’t just dive these waters; we’re here to protect them and we are bringing that same focus back to our backyard this Sunday for Operation Eden. We’re hitting the reef to pull up what doesn't belong. To the crew on the roster: keep an eye on the WhatsApp for the final weather call. 🤿

To my husband (ahh), my best friend, my Bub—Happy Birthday! 🤍

If our slightly rainy, perfect day on the sands of the North Shore taught us anything, it’s that standing next to you is exactly where I’m meant to be.

Falling in love with you has been the most beautiful experience of my life. Thank you for being my anchor, for sharing every dream, early adventure wake-up call, and for pouring so much love into our home and the world around you.

Wishing you the happiest birthday, my love. Here’s to a lifetime of reaching for your hand.

Paradise found, one wave at a time.

@islandjessi & I had the pleasure of spending a week with @alohilaniresort recently and had a lovely stay with them.

It's difficult to say what my favourite part of the stay was.. But between live music, cocktails by the firepit, the massive oceanarium in the lobby, proximity to Waikiki Beach and the rooftop infinity pool - what would be your highlight?

Massive Mahalo for the stay, that was a beautiful start to our honeymoon, looking forward to seeing you again soon. 🤙🏼 taken in Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach by @jonschutte

From vision board to reality. ✨

When we were deciding where we wanted to get married, we knew O'ahu, Hawai'i had to be the place. The island holds such a special spot in our hearts and has been home to so many incredible adventures over the years with truly beautiful humans. (Which is pretty funny considering how many people fly to our home in the Cayman Islands for their weddings, while we were flying away! ✈️😅)

But where on O'ahu? Waikiki would have been the most accessible option for our friends and family flying in from far away. The city is close to the airport with limitless options for venues, restaurants, parking, and catering—but it just didn't have that feeling, that vibe, that we really wanted to share. It felt like the big city, and we’re small-town islanders with a deep passion for the ocean. We were looking for somewhere laid-back, beachy, tropical, quiet, and ideally with a front-row view of the ocean and sunset.

Cue Ke Iki Beach Bungalows—nestled right on the beach in the heart of O'ahu’s North Shore. The bungalows are surrounded by swaying, mature palms that offer shade for friends and family, along with flowers whose colors look like a handful of your favorite Skittles. 🌺

Golden, speckled sunlight dances over the grass, playing hide-and-seek with the surfboards resting against each bungalow. Pure paradise on earth, and the most ideal place for our special day.
We are so deeply grateful to everyone who helped make our wedding so wonderful, as well as those who were able to join us on the island. We felt so much love and will forever look back fondly on the time we spent together. 🤍 taken in Oahu, Hawaii by @jonschutte

Looking for a fun activity during your stay in O'ahu? Book a sunset sail, escape the traffic and watch the skyline dance in the golden light.

I absolutely love to see Diamond Head at dusk, especially from the water, the scene is unreal, picture it. The crater come alive as the sun sets, shadows carelessly fall across the ridges, and the iconic site takes on new life as the colours shift to pastel, then fade entirely. Moments like these make me grateful for another day well spent in paradise and always optimistic for what the new day will bring.

When it comes to a sunset sail, there are so many to choose from depending on what you're looking for. For me, I'm looking for humans that prioritise safety and sustainability. Something that a group of friends can enjoy together, without breaking the bank and without harming the environment. Great drinks & snacks are always a plus. What's most important to you?

Save this post for your Waikiki itinerary and I look forward to seeing you out there! 🤙🏼 taken in Oahu, Hawaii by @jonschutte

When the sun sets, the reef comes alive in a way you can’t fully prepare for. 🌊🔦

The Nauti boys went for a night freedive at Eden Rock, dropping in at twilight and staying well after hours. For a few of them, it was their first time out on the reef at night and understandably their was some apprehension/ anxiety in the air, how would you feel about jumping into the ocean at night and swimming out to the reef?

Watching the behavioral shift underwater is incredible—from a hawksbill ascending for air to octopus hunting across the reef, spiny lobsters out in the open, and even a squid mid-meal (arguably the most wild part of the night! 🦑). Sending it through the caves with just flashlight beams made our favourite local spot feel like a completely different planet.

Beyond the thrill, experiences like this inspire me to keep protecting these exact moments, these incredible creatures, and the wild spaces we’re lucky enough to share.

Nothing beats exploring and protecting our ocean alongside a solid crew of humans. Who's in for the next night freedive session? 🤙🏼✨ taken in Cayman Islands by @jonschutte

You vibed with the last barracuda, what about this one, you getting a closer look or na? 👀

Like living torpedoes, great barracudas can explode from this state to over 35 mph in a fraction of a second. Their double row of dagger-sharp teeth are what they are known for, but their vision is even more impressive. They track movement and light reflections with incredible accuracy—which is why they’ll often hover just inches away, checking you out with sheer, quiet curiosity before drifting back into the blue - much like this encounter.

Barracuda aren't relentless chasers; they are actually pretty patient. They shadow the reef edge, blend into the open water, and wait for the exact micro-second to strike. Ever seen this behaviour for yourself?

Having encounters like this are a constant reminder of how interconnected and fragile these ocean ecosystems really are. Apex predators like this guy keep our reefs healthy and balanced, and being able to share the water with them in their natural element is a privilege I’ll never take for granted. 🌊✨ taken in Cayman Islands by @jonschutte
