Another exciting announcement! I’ve designed Welsh Eki stamps (rubber ink stamps that are ubiquitous at train stations in Japan) for use at the Wales section of the UK pavilion at the Osaka Expo in Japan this year. A dream job! The first version show is full colour and will be used online and at the Expo but the stamp will, obviously, just be black and white (scroll to see it). There will be multiple versions depicting different facets of Wales/Japan used throughout the year which I’ll post once they’re released. The link to the article is in my stories. See you in Osaka, Japan friends! #expo2025 #cymru #wales #japan #日本 by @jontofski

Here and Now - true stories of dementia from Wales and Japan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇯🇵

The Japanese side of the cover holds something remarkable.

The painting is by Ebisu Yoshikazu, legendary alternative manga artist and much-loved TV personality. He is in his eighties and living with dementia. This is his final painting, Relieved.

Welsh artist Jonathan Edwards @jontofski painted around it, showing Mr and Mrs Sato, two of our Japanese storytellers, looking at it in a gallery. We are grateful to Jonathan for the care and sensitivity he brought to it.

We are honoured Ebisu-sensei gave us permission to use it. For an artist who spent his life telling stories through comics, there is something moving about his final painting finding a home in a new one.

Created with Tenjin-kai, Ofunato.

Pre-order now, link in bio.

📅 Premiering at @lakesinternationalcomic - 3 & 4 October
📅 UK comic shops via Diamond - 11 November (order code SEP262089)

Yma Nawr - straeon am ddementia o Gymru a Japan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇯🇵

Mae rhywbeth arbennig iawn ar ochr Siapaneaidd clawr y comic - darlun gan Ebisu Yoshikazu. Mae Ebisu-sensei yn artist manga amgen chwedlonol ac yn un o wynebau poblogaidd iawn teledu Japan. Mae e bellach yn ei wythdegau ac yn byw gyda dementia. Dyma ei ddarlun olaf, Relieved.

Fe baentiodd yr artist Cymreig Jonathan Edwards @jontofski o'i gwmpas, gan ddangos Mr a Mrs Sato, dau o'n storïwyr o Japan, yn edrych ar y darlun mewn oriel. Diolch enfawr i Jonathan am y gofal wrth wneud hyn.

Mae'n fraint cael cynnwys gwaith Ebisu-sensei yn y comic. Ar ôl oes o adrodd straeon drwy gomics, mae rhywbeth teimladwy iawn am ei ddarlun olaf yn dod o hyd i gartref mewn comic newydd.

Wedi'i greu gyda Tenjin-kai, Ofunato.

Archebwch eich copi ymlaen llaw — dolen yn y bio.

📅 Yn cael ei lansio yn @lakesinternationalcomic — 3 a 4 Hydref
📅 Mewn siopau comics ledled y DU drwy Diamond — 11 Tachwedd (cod archebu SEP262089)
