Earlier this year I finally moved out of North Tonawanda! Im thankful for everyone that helped me move and pack! Also thankful that my Dad and brother played along with my stupid ideas... Such as this method of getting things into the moving truck 🤣

Sadly larger things were moved than shown here, but half way thru the phone fell over and just pointed at the ground lol taken in North Tonawanda, New York by @jordanclimbsstuff

Reclaimer - v8 FA

I found reclaimer in 2022ish after @ryanireland__ busted his ankle on angel dyno. We turned our climbing trip into a road trip, and I started scrambling around near the lookout at Snow Canyon. I found this super cool boulder with awesome crimps and no chalk, but it seemed like it wasn't really possible to make a line. Its basically the shortest approach ever to get to it, but you have to scramble down like 20 feet of rocks. Ryan of course did this in crutches 🤣

I came back later after climbing in Moes valley with @mattlutey and company, and found enough holds to make it go! I had to drive up from Vegas one more time to put it down. It actually went down first try that day, but I apparently hadn't warmed up enough, so my fingers were burning. I rarely do FAs, so this might be the coolest one I ever do!

There is a further right start that goes at about v8 into this, and darth grader puts v8 in to v8 at v10 soooooo.... that would be cool! Maybe I'll come back. Concerning the grade, its right around the same difficulty as Tantonka (v9), but a much different style. Hard 8, easy 9, who knows, it's all made up anyways. Waiting for the upgrade from @mattlutey - I'll accept it. Now to post this on mountain project...

Straight on video is from a different day. The angled video with the pretty background is the actual send

Tatonka - v9

I went to squamish last month to visit some friends and mostly got rained out. This was barely dry the day before I went home. I look pretty shaky on this thing because I put it together in 1 hour. I definitely didn't have the moves down. The movement was so fun though from start to finish! Felt kinda soft for the grade?

I picked this song because of the happy vibe... And the irony that no one was out there with me climbing 🤣 taken in Squamish, British Columbia by @jordanclimbsstuff

Seep vs the Army of Darkness - v10!

I made a goal years ago (kinda like @contismaximus actually) to send v10 and 5.13a. Those seemed like really hard to reach numbers for me, and somehow 13a felt even further away than v10. Little did I know 5.13a is similar to like v7 effort if you're a competent sport climber... so I found out v10 was the much harder goal. Some time along the way I got sick of trying to climb harder - I should probably try training - so I made a bench press goal too (100lbs over my weight for 1 rep) just to have something achievable. Happy to say I finally met all my goals within a few months of each other, and even exceeded some goals!

Also my parents showed up for this! So cool! I told them I was going to the glen to hopefully do this climb, and they said they wanted to see it. Definitely added to the stress haha

Huge thanks to @contismaximus for sessioning this with me. It was really cool to both achieve our goal almost back to back! taken in Niagara Glen Nature Reserve by @jordanclimbsstuff

7/4 Early Bird (5.13b)
I put down my first 13b in the fourth of july heat wave! I've known about this climb for some time now, knowing it was a short but super bouldery climb. I knew I had the strength to do every part, and assumed even with low endurance I could link it all together, but I never got on it because the grade seemed out of reach. I finally found some time to get on it a few months ago, and had the chance to send it my second go, but messed up the second rest (didn't split far enough). I was amazed that I could have put it down that quick, but then also nervous coming back, because I knew I could do it, so I was going to be disappointed if I walked away without the send that day. Thankfully, after one more failed attempt, it went down on my fourth try total! I'm honestly pretty psyched to climb something of this grade, I never really thought I would get here. Also for anyone looking to try this, the start can be done with a bit less effort with better foot beta, but I never really tweaked my method because I at least knew I could get through it like this, and I just wanted to put it down!

@ryanireland__ super sick belay

Show Me the Power - 5.13a (8/17/2024)
I tried this climb once at some point in 2023, and the crux seemed so hard. Then I promptly forgot about it because I haven't been sport climbing nearly as much as I used to. I decided to come back to it in August of last year (I can't believe this was almost a year ago now), and 'warmed up' on it, going clip to clip, and figuring out the moves. Allen Mercer showed up to give me a belay after that so Amrit could fly the drone and record it. This was only my 3rd attempt on the climb at this point, and I told them my goal was to just climb it smooth enough to get some drone footage. I didn't have to send it. Somehow it all came together, almost worry free, besides that reach out around the roof, and I sent! I left that part as the longest uncut part of this video, because it shows how scared I was there. I had taken a few bad falls there trying to make that blind reach, and I actually hurt my heel a bit from it hitting the rock too hard, so I was a bit nervous here on the send haha! I was super confused on the top here, because I hadn't even been past that part on this day, so it was over a year since I felt out what to do, but it was cruisy climbing. I'm also curious if that reach around the roof was even what I had to do? Maybe you can just move up right of that quick draw?? Either way, I FINALLY DID 5.13a! (and I'm about a year late to posting it, no surprise)

Huge thanks to @amercat37 for the belay

Finally nailed the dyno on Rat Race (5.12a/b)! I never thought I would even try it over water. The first time I ever saw someone try it, they grabbed the top and then fell off sideways mid swing 😮

I tried it on a rope earlier this year and it was way too messy. Then I saw this one guy pull up with a boat a few weekends ago and make it look so easy! It had to be done... So I tried a jump or two for the last hold, without actually committing, to make sure I'd fall in safe... And it started to seem achievable. After a few goes, the finish hold was mine! The shot with audio from far away was the first time I hit it, and then the drone footage is actually the second time I went for it, so we could get another angle! I hit it twice in a row!

Cocina!
Always thought this climb looked fun. Excuse the super sloppy and weird beta, I couldn't for the life of me stick the toe hook like the rest of you normal people. Who else has sent this and chain reaction? I ask because people talk about chain reaction possibly being a v8, but I think this is noticeably easier than chain reaction, reaffirming chain reaction's v9, unless we wanna downgrade Cocina to v7 haha taken in Niagara Glen Nature Reserve by @jordanclimbsstuff

The smooth white volcanic rock of Sarakiniko contrasted with the light blue ocean makes it one of the most beautiful places on Earth!

(10/25/2019) This beach was the reason I traveled to Greece in 2019, everything else was just extra. The adventure was definitely worth it taken in Sarakiniko Beach, Milos Island by @jordanclimbsstuff

C U B E !

(7/24/2022) The cube fascinated me the first time I saw it online. After searching for it for a while I finally found a guidebook that it was in and had it shipped to me. Once we got the guidebook it was still difficult to find, but it was an incredible journey! It looks just as incredible with your own eyes as it does in the pictures. Just a random block of rock, perfectly situated, and conveniently bolted.

After @sanghera.amrit found it on satellite using the guidebook for help, we found an offroad trail to take us as close as possible to it. Once we got there, we scouted out the hike with a drone. There was practically no trial and we just hiked a really steep hill for what felt like forever. It was a really fun adventure.

This thing is like an outdoor climbing gym all in itself. The overhung face has multiple hard 5.12s and easy 5.13s, along with 5.9-5.11 on other sides. Incredible experience all around. Big thanks to @sanghera.amrit for the belays, hanging out on top of the cube with me, and doing the crazy hike in. taken in Earth by @jordanclimbsstuff

Fear of a Black Hat - v9

I really haven't posted much lately but realized it's been exactly a year since I climbed this route and it really is worth sharing. This was the first climb I saw last year while walking into Kraft boulders and I thought it looked super cool. It was definitely a bit of a high ball and just looked scary. But it also looked feasible. A few days later I met @boulderandbrews at Red Rocks and he was nice enough to lend me a pad so I had more for my solo bouldering sessions. Right before the end of my trip I convinced him to come work this climb with me because it needed far more than the two pads I had and I wanted someone strong to work it with (and I really needed a spotter). Matt arrived in the parking lot along with @_zhaolang_, and I was psyched to have two people to climb with and some more pads. It turns out neither of them were planning on climbing that day, but they were nice enough to show up, encourage me and pad the climb - turns out climbers are really cool people! I had played around on the intro moves to this climb like twice, but never actually gave it a solid effort. After learning it was v9 I figured it was going to take a lot of work and I didn't have the time. Matt and Zhao watched me fall on this thing like at least 8 times before it got late enough that Matt told me he had to take off. He gave me one more try... Turns out I can occasionally climb v9 in one session! I had no idea! The crux of this climb for me was keeping my cool as it got higher (and not breaking an ankle every time I fell from missing that swing). The difficulty didn't let up until pulling the overhang, and the darkness didn't help at all. It was an incredible experience and still my happiest climb that I've sent. Gotta thank @boulderandbrews, @littlebetabird, @_zhaolang_, @ivanahetrick, and everyone I've met through you guys for being some of the coolest people I know. I love every time I get to come out and visit you guys and go on a trip with you guys! taken in Kraft Boulders by @jordanclimbsstuff

Sedona is just ridiculously beautiful!

When I found this spot earlier this year I couldn't find this sport climb anywhere on mountain project or local guides... So it was kinda spicy trusting the bolts. They've held up for a few climbs now so I guess theyre good 🤷‍♂️

Thanks @elliefowks for the initial belay (and learning to sport belay on the spot hahah) up this in March and Garret for the belay last weekend (and the second photo). Such an amazing spot to catch the sunset and sunrise. taken in Sedona, Arizona by @jordanclimbsstuff
