“Be dignified, honest, and truthful.” ~ Umar ibn Al-Khattab

Very proud of my boy. He just finished memorizing his fourth part of the Quran. This surah that he is reciting is called Hadid, Hadid means Iron.

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
—
Whatever is in the heavens and earth exalts Allah, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
—
His is the dominion of the heavens and earth. He gives life and causes death, and He is over all things competent.
—
He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing.
—
It is He who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein; and He is with you wherever you are. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing.

I became Muslim in 1996 in East San Diego. I was a part of the local Muslim community at a masjid called Masjid Noor. Amin Abdullah was the imam there. I spent many days and nights with this beautiful brother, traveled with him, ate with him, laughed and prayed with him. I can’t recall a single negative interaction with him. He was impeccable, and those who knew Amin will say the same.
—
He was the personification of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the one from whom the people’s lives and wealth are safe.”
—
A brother I spoke with today told me that after the Christchurch incident, Amin vowed to work to protect the masjid from a similar tragedy and prayed to be accepted as a shaheed. He received both.

We all miss and grieve this blessed brother, and at the same time, the proof of Allah’s acceptance of him is echoing now far and wide. May Allah grant him the highest stations in paradise. Ameen. by @jordanrichter
