Too much to fit into a 10sec video 😍🇦🇱📌 Save this for your future trip to Albania Welcome to a country that has everything. And at a much lower cost than some of its Mediterranean neighbours. Albania is a country with incredible mountainous regions in the north, and equally beautiful beaches along its south coast. It’s a place that is cheap, wild in places, incredibly scenic, and still flying under the radar compared to the rest of Europe.For context, we spent around 9 days exploring both the North and South of the country. You can pack a lot in to a relatively short amount of time in the country; another reason to visit! Some things you should really consider doing while you’re there:💦 VISIT KOMANI LAKEA stunning place flanked by green cliffs and amazing turquoise waters (some parts look a little like Jurassic Park). There are plenty of places to stay right on the water’s edge!🗻THETH Found in the north of the country, Theth is probably the most ‘must-visit’ place in the whole of the country in my opinion. Here you can find things like the Blue Eye, Grunas Waterfalls, and the world renowned Theth-Valbona hike. ☀️HIMAREIf you want to visit the South of the country you must visit Himare, especially the old town. You’ll find amazing beaches in this region and some fantastic history. A country which left its mark on me 🇵🇰Gilgit Baltistan hit me harder than I thought it would. It’s one of those rare places that feels vast and calm all at once, the kind of scenery that makes you feel tiny.From the Karakoram Highway snaking through steep sided valleys, to small villages tucked beneath glaciers, this region is truly unique. Hard to put into words until you’ve stood there yourself.Here are some of my favourite frames from my time in northern Pakistan. Each one of these I look back on with a different memory; freezing mornings, endless drives, unbeatable camp spots, and countless reminders of why I love travelling to and shooting places like this.So many moments I know I’ll hold onto. Here’s just a few:🏔️ Laying eyes on my first 8,000m peak.🐑 A shepherd wandering over to join us around the campfire, out of nowhere.✨ Flat on my back at 1am, watching the Milky Way stretch across Nangma Valley.🎒 Watching in disbelief at how much weight the Sherpas hauled without blinking.And plenty more on top of that. Earth 🤝 Art It’s crazy to think how many beautiful landscapes, patterns, textures and colours make up our world. When I look back at some of the shots I’ve taken, it makes you realise that Earth really can look like a painting. Here is a collection of shots that can only fully be appreciated when you ‘look down’ at our world, 🌋 Volcanic jet black shores that contrast with white foamy waves🌸 Water Lillies that create beautiful green channels in vast open lakes🧂Intricate red and orange patterns left by salt deposits, from what once made up the ocean floor🌊 Turquoise waters with the saturation cranked up 100 in the beaming sun❄️ Icey whites and blues that make up the worlds thousands of glaciers When I look back through my camera roll it really helps me appreciate the beauty of where we all live. I’ve never been anywhere like this before 😍What you’re seeing is a series of postcards from a sunrise excursion on Skadar Lake, Montenegro.One of the biggest lakes in South Europe, the lake straddles both Montenegro and Albania, and has some incredibly unique features.Hidden water lily channels with narrow waterways cut through the reeds and are covered in floating white and yellow lilies, especially in late spring and summer. When the light is low and soft, it really is a sight to behold.A huge thanks to @skadarlake_boat_kayak for a wonderful morning. I couldn’t recommend these guys highly enough. Not typical, better 😍🌏Not all travel destinations are created equal. Some are so distinctive and unique that they stick in your mind long after you’ve left. Anywhere and everywhere 🏠🌉Cliff edges. Sea stacks. Mountain passes that barely fit a footpath, let alone a road. No matter how impossible the terrain looks. If there’s a reason to stay, someone will have built something there.As a species, it’s pretty crazy to consider all pf the places we’ve built things. In China there are bridges you can fit multiple sky scrapers under. in the Antarctic, there are small towns and bases now. And on tiny islands around the world we’ve built castles and homes - many of these hundreds of years ago too! What ties all of these together isn’t the scenery. It’s the stubbornness. Every one of these places represents a someone that looked at a hostile or difficult landscape and decided the view, the isolation, or the strategic position was worth the difficulty of actually living there.Swipe through for some of the most extreme examples of human settlement I’ve come across while shooting in Pakistan, the Faroe Islands, and beyond.❓Which of these spots are you choosing?#architecture #earth #mankind #photography by @jordlg

Trust me 😌🇰🇿Mangystau isn’t somewhere most people have even heard of, which makes no sense once you see it. Canyons, chalk formations, an underground mosque, and a Caspian Sea coastline that doesn’t look like it belongs in Kazakhstan.It’s in the far west of the country, close to the Caspian coast, and one of the most underrated regions for landscape photography anywhere. Similar terrain to Cappadocia or Wadi Rum, but almost no tourists and roads that take a little more concentration than most🤣Most of the formations here were shaped by the region once being seabed, which is part of why the colours and textures look so different to anywhere else in Central Asia.📍 Mangystau Region, KazakhstanPlanning a Kazakhstan trip or want to know how to get out to Mangystau, what to pack, how the driving works, or the best time of year to go? Never coming down 😌Above the clouds is always my favourite conditions to shoot in. Hands down.There’s something about it that never gets old. One minute you’re in fog with zero visibility, next minute you’re above it and it looks like this. Different every single time, but always worth the wait or the struggle through the fog.Some of these were early starts. Some were pure luck. A couple I sat around for hours waiting for the cloud to break the right way and almost gave up before it did.This is a collection of some of the best ones I’ve caught over the last few years, across a few different countries. In case you didn’t know 🤷I’ve been doing travel photography and content for long enough now to know that there are some facts about places that go under the radar. They’re the ones you stumble on halfway through editing a photo, or get told by a locals. It doesn’t matter if it’s a country you’ve dreamed about visiting or one you’ve never really thought about, there’s always something.This is a collection of facts from places that made me stop and think “wait, really?” Some of these are places I’ve spent weeks in, some a few days. Bad weather 🤝 OpportunityPhotography is such a subjective thing. There are some out there who will only shoot in golden hour for the best and softest possible light. I love that too. But there are some circumstance where mood is 👑For me a lot of it depends on the environment. If I’m in Scotland or the Faroe Islands for example, I much prefer to have dark gloomy clouds over sunshine. It fits the vibe of the place so much better.I’ve hiked and been exposed to such crazy conditions over the years that I’m kind of numb to it now. Rain, hail, snow, wind. It’s very rarely bad enough to make me want to stay inside…If there are views out there to be captured, let’s get it. We’ll just get wet 😅If you had to choose… by @jordlg

Cooking up something smooooth 🎥The DJI OM8P has my first experience with using a standalone gimbal. Before this I’d only ever used ones with built-in cameras such as the Osmo Pocket 4. I knew my iPhone shot pretty smooth video, but this thing takes the quality up a notch. Not only is it smooth, but there’s so much you can do with this thing!Here are some of the things I was able to capture:😵‍💫 SPINSHOT: This feature allows you to spin your phone while it’s filming. I got a fantastic shot of the opening of a cave from directly below using this mode! ⏱️ HYPERLAPSE: Thanks to the integrated tripod, you can set up your phone to capture moving timelapses. I managed to get a great shot of a misty waterfall using this!⚖️ ULTRA-STABLE SHOTS: The 3-axis Mechanical Stabilisation allowed me to film shots that look so much more cinematic than just filming handheld.This isn’t even everything, just a few of my favourite parts of the OM8P. If you’re looking to upgrade your phone clips, I would certainly wouldn’t overlook this! by @jordlg
