Comment DOCTOR and we’ll send you a free month of PREVO to watch TAKERS. Kara is confronted by The Doctor, a supernatural plague doctor who forces her to face her greatest fears. To make her levitate, the crew put @sofia_masson_ on a stunt rig called a parallelogram, basically a giant see-saw, then painted it out. It’s one of 36 visual effects shots in a four-minute film that was planned to have five. The Doctor’s black smoke was modeled on an upside-down black jellyfish, and VFX artist @highvillarreal spent about a year on the shots. Inside the mask, @le.woods couldn’t see a thing for two straight nights. @joro719 made TAKERS as a proof of concept for a feature. Watch it, then leave a Note under the film with what you’d want to see if it became one. We’ll reshare the best ones here. Your free month also covers our first original short film, MIDNIGHT MOVIE CLUB II, premiering later this month. Starring Sofia Masson as Kara and L.E. Woods as The Doctor, with the voice of @spencerdevlinhoward . Written and directed by @joro719 (@director_joro). Produced by @katieannemoy , @fr33_willis and Jordan Roman. Cinematography by @martintaube. Visual effects by @highvillarreal. Stunt coordinator Ian Eyre. Storyboards by Todd Hoppmeyer. Edited by Dag Abebe and Jordan Roman. Color by Jensen Vinca. Music and sound by Sam Costello. An @ominous_entertainment production. Made a short of your own? Submissions are free, link in bio. by @joro719

REVIEW: Body horror can be an incredibly effective genre when filmmakers find ways to make the human body itself feel disturbing. #MyNameIsJohn, directed by Jordan A. Roman and written by Frankie Campisano, takes an intriguing approach to this idea, delivering an unsettling short that feels like the beginning of something much bigger. ━━━━━━ Check out the FULL REVIEW on our website.
