shrugs in Albanian 🤦🏻‍♀️

One thing nobody tells you about choosing a name from another language…

English might not have the sounds to pronounce it, but somehow it’ll still end up with a nickname that makes even less sense.

So his legal name is Yll.

It means Star, so that’s what we call him in English.

At home he’s Ylli.

Which somehow became Ylli Bylli.

Then Ylli Bylli Swimming Pooly.

And now… he’s mostly just Bull.

Please tell me we’re not the only family where a perfectly normal(ish) name somehow evolved into complete nonsense. What’s the most ridiculous nickname in your family? 😂👇

I may have taken the “boys can wear anything” thing a little too seriously 😬

This is @_bobochoses_ , found for £5 at on Vinted. Ex-fashion buyer here, so this is what I look for when I’m hunting kidswear:

• Garment-dyed colour. That lived-in, sun-faded red can’t be faked, and it only gets better with wear.
• Worn-in jersey that’s still good quality. Soft and slouchy, but it keeps its shape. Well-made pieces age beautifully.
• A boxy, ideally raglan sleeve. Roomy through the body, easy to layer, and it fits for more than one season.
• A cracked, faded print. Soft and broken-in beats shiny and stiff every time. It’s the difference between looking new and looking loved.

Swipe for the back print, because that’s the money shot.

Day dates with my boys are my favourite styling job. No brief, no stylist, just good light and a good find.

Mid-October and my basket is full. These are some of the pieces topping our wishlist this month.

1. @binibamba ice blue shearling snuggler. Nothing marks the changing of the seasons better than a cosy pram liner, and our old faithful had an unfortunate incident with bird poo so it’s only fair right?!

2. I can’t tell you how much I am lusting after these @rosiesugdencashmere beanies for the boys. The only hard decision is the colour!

3. @zuma__world ‘I’m cute’ tee, I don’t actually think this one deserves an explanation.

4. Smiley magnets for the boys’ metal lockers. Joyous, interactive fun, no notes @velveteen_babies

5. Preloved Air Max 95 via @lespetitschampignons I had these for Axel so I’m pumped to find these for Star as well.

6. The boys share a room, and I’m always on the hunt for room decor which will grow with them, how divine are these @lettersofclay letters?

7. We didn’t make it down to the @oafyworld pop-up but you bet I’ll be checking these online. The cardi for Star and trousers for Axel.

8. There’s nothing better than an oversize striped tee IMO and this one from @_bobochoses_ smashes it with the colour palette.

9. Had to sneak in one for me @tibaandmarl x @junoandpip the charm of the moment in a cool brown and blue hues.
