This is just a reminder regarding my concert!
It starts in a few hours and I would love to see any support there!!

Some of you may or may not know me, but I’m a teenage opera singer!
I grew up in Chattanooga and spent 18 years in this wonderful area!

I’m so excited to share that this past year, l was accepted to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, Uk, 🇬🇧 which is the 3rd best music school in the WORLD to pursue my passion for opera!

In a few hours, I’ll be performing a FREE OPERA CONCERT at the Collegedale University Church, and it would mean so much to me to see my community there!

Information:

🗓️ Tuesday, August 25
⏰ 7:00 PM
📍 Collegedale University Church Sanctuary
4829 College Dr E
Collegedale, TN 37315

🎭 Did you recognize that I was sick while singing?? 🎭

🤧🎭🎶 What does singing while sick feel like?
Well, for me it means that singing feels 20x harder and I have to be more concise and conscious of what sound I’m producing.

🎼🗣️ Opera singers are often expected to keep up with their singing technique, ESPECIALLY while managing an illness when preforming. Sometimes in the music field, you’re not able to call sick from singing, this is our reality!! taken in Guildhall School of Music & Drama by @joshdriano

Sometimes you have to work on a whim, like my bow tie joke, it wasn’t rehearsed! here’s my thoughts when singing this piece!⬇️

For the Schmidt competition, I prepared three songs. In the first round, I performed two songs, ‘Non Piu Andrai’ bring one of the 2, the judges loved it, but I had to be cut off due to my time limit being exceeded. But, I was bumped to the final round. In the final round, I sang my third song, then chose to perform “Non Piu Andrai” again because I was given the option to and it’s my favorite. The problem was, the judges had already seen most of it the first round. So, while performing, I had the idea to use my bow tie as a prop. My advice: don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun with your performance—even if the idea seems a little out there!

Welcome everyone! I’m Josh, a 17 year old Opera Singer with a powerful voice of a 25 year old.

I started this account to share with the world my skill and l inspire as well as educate others on music and my craft.

I also started this account to help other singers not feel alone, especially teenagers who go through voice changes. I wish I would’ve had a friend during my confusing vocal change especially when I was a male Sopranist, going straight into a Bass range.

I was trained in Classical and Baroque training since the age of 7, but had practiced music since 3.
I had found a love for Baroque & Classical Opera, which I sing both!

I will post every now and then to update my audience with my music life, and will hopefully gather some attention from the world of Classical Opera! taken in Llandovery College by @joshdriano
