I'm not about to set any records, but this feels pretty ok for a dude in his 40s who'd never touched a barbell 12 months ago. by @joshdrums

Sometime around 2007, a loose collective of musicians that would eventually become the Druthers started packing themselves into a cramped, neon-lit corner of Kay's Bar in Sellwood to play beautiful songs written by one Kirk Duncan. Today, the Druthers are releasing Soap & Water, a "lost album" of sorts that was recorded (mostly) during that era and captures the essence of who we were at that particular moment in time. I am so happy that this record is finally being released, and I hope it evokes the same warm memories for you that it does for me. Link in bio. Love you ❤️ by @joshdrums

Just learning that Carlton Jackson died. Carlton was my first drum teacher when I was in middle school, and the things he taught me about feel and touch on the instrument remain fundamental to my playing 25 years later. We didn’t keep in close touch over the years, but I would run into him periodically and he was always eager to catch up. Carlton was a veritable encyclopedia of music history. More importantly, he was a kind person, beloved by generations of Portland musicians. He will be missed greatly. by @joshdrums

“Big R” Rodgers kits don’t get a lot of love from collectors, but man do I dig these drums.

A while back @chance.hayden saw a video of me shedding this blues-rumba groove and asked if I could record a full minute of it for him. I obliged, and he turned what I sent him into this killer tune featuring @damianerskine on bass. Great stuff, dudes! by @joshdrums
