Happy Friday folks! Since we went to all the trouble to record our previous song, Cage For Cull for the Tiny Desk contest, we decided to just capture one more tune while we were at it, and I’m so glad we did.

Inspired by a few insightful and uncomfortable questions asked by my wonderful therapist, this song explores how our thoughts around social, societal, and capitalistic structures can erode our identity and self-worth, and how important it is to remember that we are souls, first and foremost.

I hope it helps someone remember how miraculous they are today.

Filmed and edited by the incredible @88.8_films with assist from @rollstarsproductions (effing delightful pair to work with, hire them!) and mixed by @tannercundy , who battled some crazy room noise, equipment idiosyncrasies, and my picky ass and brain-injury-challenged ears until I was happy and deserves an award for his patience.

Love to you all,

#ideatheartist

Hellooo!

After two long years of car-crash recovery, I am delighted to announce that I will be returning to the stage on August 3rd at 2pm with a full band for the VANCOUVER ARTS AND MUSIC FESTIVAL. The seven-piece band includes the stellar talents of @joshdrums @boxcar_lucy @margaretwehr @erinadkisson @npurscelley and Pink Aelish.

I am also honored to be playing the Local Roots PNW showcase at ASP ON September 23rd ✨

AND I’m overjoyed to announce my first ever gallery show, El Tejido Entre Mundos at Multnomah Art Gallery from February to April of 2026, an anthropological exhibit series of oil paintings examining the resilience of the Maya in colonial contexts.

Finally, I have two upcoming single releases to share with you, and I will be returning to the studio to tackle another full-length idea the artist record.

I am forever changed by my brain injury, and re-entering a more involved and active artistic and social life is going to be a roller coaster of successes and failures, but I am excited for all of it, and full of gratitude.

My heartfelt thanks to all my friends and family who have been supportive and flexible while i try to navigate all of these changes in my capacities. Community really is everything, and i look forward to trying to be, slowly but surely, more present for you all. Things admittedly feel a bit bleak in our country right now, but our collective liberation is a web of responsibility toward ourselves and others that is so sacred, and I hope that I can contribute to your world in a positive way, and bring some beauty along with us as we stand shoulder to shoulder in this moment.

It is always and ever my wish to give you something everlasting.

With all my love,
idea
