KINGDOM WITHIN is out now 💫

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today, Kingdom Within is finally yours.
This record marks a new chapter for me - my first independent album in over twenty years, made with the help of some truly wonderful people.

A huge thank you to Chris Collins, George Georgiadis, Will Henderson, Elana Stone, Josh Schuberth, Jordan Kerwick, Jefferton James, my family, Sarah at BootsDarling, and the teams at ADA, The Annex and Daydream Nation for helping bring this album to life.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who listens, comes to shows, buys records, streams songs and shares the music. I couldn’t do any of this without you.

I hope these songs find their way to you.
Much love,
Jpx

Spoiler alert: We didn’t cut it.

@joshpyke just sent a [insert author’s name] book straight to the bin. His reasons are worth hearing. 🗑️

CASE FILE: NEW KIDS’ BOOKS

Bedtime stories are on trial and I brought in the perfect witness: @joshpyke!

Pyke is an ARIA-award-winning musician with 20+ years in the game. He’s also an epic children’s book author in his own right. So who better to decide which books earn a spot on the bedside table, and which get sent straight to jail?

We put nine new picture books through a round of Buy It or Bin It:

📖 Oh No! by James Foley
📖 The Color Monster by Anna Llenas
📖 Belonging by Jeannie Baker
📖 Zoo Trip by Mary Fowler
📖 Ah, Nits! by Philip Bunting
📖 Pirate Stew by Neil Gaiman
📖 Julián Is a Mermaid by Jessica Love
📖 A Spoonful of Frogs by Casey Lyall
📖 Eric by Shaun Tan

Some walked free. Some did not. 👀

Full episode of @theparentingpolice out now, wherever you get your podcasts.

How much are your goosebumps worth to you?
Spotify and other streamers have made billions by woodchipping every beautiful old-growth tree in the lush musical forest yet have failed to plant any seeds to ensure there’s something left for future generations.

When @joshpyke stopped by the house to discuss his new album, we spoke about what Australian culture is worth to us, what happens if we don’t somehow pay for the soundtrack to our lives, and what it’s like being a musician who goes into bat with lawmakers, trying to show them that our songwriters are a vital part of not only our export economy, but our cultural cohesion.

Search “Better Than Yesterday” where you get your podcasts, listen or watch with the link in the bio, or comment “JOSH” and I’ll DM you the episode by @joshpyke

Such a lovely couple days at the @library_vic 📚❤️

Seeing a book that’s so personal and special to me (These Long Loved Things) turned into a beautiful gathering place in the Children’s Quarter was honestly a highlight of my career. @ronojoyghosh did an incredible job with the display 🥹
Huge thanks to the amazing crew there who looked after us so well 👏👏

The last couple of days really highlighted the importance of public spaces and public libraries for community access.

The beautiful rooms, exhibitions and celebrations of history and literature were inspiring…. And I got to sit in the “Shooshing Chair”…. Can you believe that was an actual full time job at one point?! 🤫🤫🤫

Did u know the Victorian state library is the 3rd busiest library in the world??🌍

And it’s all thanks to the passionate and knowledgeable staff… so give a big ol round of applause to your local librarian!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️
