Cheers to the perpetual learning and unlearning of the creative process 🥂 I’m proud to have grown into this version of myself and I’m grateful to be able to share it with you 🌱

Scroll to see some of the artwork I’ve been creating as I learn how to embrace + express myself more 💖 from one sensitive soul to another, grace and patience are some of the best things I ever gave myself. I hope you share the same with yourself too!

Over the past year and a half I have had the great privilege of collaborating with CAAC @artsincolumbus to bring the long-awaited Studio C @studioc.caac to fruition as their first Studio Manager and Artist in Residence. It’s an honor to deepen my practice and serve Columbus and the surrounding areas alongside other artists and change-makers who believe in the value of creativity and community… cause gosh, we sure need it!! I am so grateful for everyone who has been a part of it so far 💖

On that note— I would like to give a BIG shoutout to my CAAC team, Studio Techs, Artists/Mentors, Community Members and Propeller fam whose support has been instrumental in the ever-unfolding Process. I hope our work will help guide more folks to find joy, connection, and inspiration to create the world of our dreams!

If you’re in the area, you should get involved! We need more creative community and the folks at @columbuspropeller @artsincolumbus and @studioc.caac are doing the good work to make it happen. Join us and find something you never knew your soul needed…. Life is heavy but this work has saved me in so many ways— I wish the same for you.

Pics from this past week at @indygaymarket, @atjoannes, and @second.studio 💕 Indy Gay Circle Market was a blast as usual and a great way to kick off pride month— a much needed success after closing down one of my favorite places, Second Story Studio.

I’m so grateful for @towwby.tuesday @hbjinx @outlandish_loca and my SSS art club folks for making this week special and helping me out/being there for me. It’s bittersweet to meet the end of such a special place, but I’m sure there are better things coming and I’m glad to finally have found my place and my people. Indy Gay Market and Second Story Studio have been hugely affirming for me as a queer artist in small town Indiana and have connected me with so many other wonderful, creative, and compassionate folks.

This is just the beginning! We’ve got our work cut out for us. There is much to celebrate, much to mourn, and much to build on the path towards liberation. May we continue to create a more loving, expressive, inclusive, and equitable world. I wish everyone reading this the same self-compassion, forgiveness, and love that I have discovered on this journey, and a deep conviction to building solidarity and dismantling systems of control and oppression as we birth the new world.

That’s all for now. See you soon and HAPPY PRIDE BITCHES!!!! 🌈💖✨

Also, follow our new studio @atjoannes for art shenanigans 👀 by @jostarrmo

A collection of moments— communion, connection, creation… parts of the process. I am creating! I am alive! Yippee!

Bouncing between my creative spaces that I have been deeply blessed by @second.studio @studioc.caac and JoAnnes (coming soon), making art for the fun of it, baking cakes for people i love, making art with and for people i love, trying new things, building community and learning how to live and love more and more and more. I don’t know what i’m doing but i’m doing it.

Spring is here— time to plant some seeds! 🌱

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this baby, “Seeds of Change”, my first screen print since high school. I really enjoyed the process, though there is plenty to fine-tune still. Cheers to trying new things— and cheers to our perpetual becoming as we learn and grow and create our symbiotic future together. 🍄‍🟫 🌱 🌲

These prints are not on my website yet but if you’re interested, DM me. $25/1 or $40/2 including shipping. 11x14” on heavyweight paper

No filter, just watercolor and sunlight 🌞✨ prints coming soon!

With the light’s return and spring waiting around the corner, I’m coming alive again… but I’ll admit, I actually like winter. These pics were from after the big snow storm at the end of January, which I’m a bit nostalgic for. I like when it’s quiet and clean and slow… but thank God the light is finally returning.

This has been consuming my thoughts lately. The only way we’re going to have a better world is to CREATE it, and that requires courageously releasing the shame + fear that stands in the way of our honest expression. Art is a technology to help you uncover your truest self and help others do the same. We have to face ourselves if we are going to get to the other side of this BS. The revolution starts in your heart. Now is the time to embrace the love that awaits you on the other side of fear.

I am learning how to do that. I’m learning how to let myself be imperfect and forgive myself for it, to rewrite the programming that keeps me small, stressed, and quiet. I am learning how to let myself bloom and that its very important to do so, so that I can help others do the same.

Love will always win over fear and fascism, but we have to deal with the putrid rot of our collective shame, grief, and fear. We must rewrite our story, and lean into who we know ourselves to be. It starts with you and with us.
