Meeting Cathy from @foxfire_designs_ in Paris led to one of the most memorable experiences of my trip.

She invited me to see FoxFire Designs at @thebureaufashionweek , and the night became much more than just watching a runway show. I met members of her team and friends — some of whom were also modelling in the show — along with other designers and models presenting their work that evening. We talked about their work, shared stories, took photos together, and eventually ended the night over dinner.

What stayed with me most was getting to know Cathy a little better and seeing just how much thought and talent goes into what she creates. Her work is shaped by her Hopi and Santa Ana Pueblo heritage, her family, her community and the landscapes that inspire her, but it still feels contemporary and completely her own. Seeing those ideas go from conversation to runway made the whole experience feel much more personal.

Fashion can look glamorous from the outside, but behind those few minutes on a runway are long hours, ideas, culture, nerves, friendships and a huge amount of work that most people never get to see.

I’m genuinely grateful to Cathy, her team and everyone I met that night for making me feel so welcome. I came to Paris expecting to see places — somehow I ended up leaving with stories and people I never expected to meet. 🇫🇷✨ taken in Espace Clery by @jovan_the_model

The Green Goddess who made it all happen!

All would not be possible to have this last mermaid shoot without her being so bold and finding me a pool I could use!!

Special thanks to my friend who made this happen for all of us! @jovan_the_model was made to be a mermaid 🧜‍♀️ and so this was meant to be. She was so amazing that she got her friend to let us use his pool and trust to let 20 strangers come over. What a kind heart helping me make the jog for so many while she’s was modeling in New York and now in Paris! We are so proud of you chasing your dreams and more. She even stayed till 2 am helping me finish the 7 foot clam shell the day before our last mermaid shoot for 50 of us.
