Meeting Cathy from @foxfire_designs_ in Paris led to one of the most memorable experiences of my trip.

She invited me to see FoxFire Designs at @thebureaufashionweek , and the night became much more than just watching a runway show. I met members of her team and friends — some of whom were also modelling in the show — along with other designers and models presenting their work that evening. We talked about their work, shared stories, took photos together, and eventually ended the night over dinner.

What stayed with me most was getting to know Cathy a little better and seeing just how much thought and talent goes into what she creates. Her work is shaped by her Hopi and Santa Ana Pueblo heritage, her family, her community and the landscapes that inspire her, but it still feels contemporary and completely her own. Seeing those ideas go from conversation to runway made the whole experience feel much more personal.

Fashion can look glamorous from the outside, but behind those few minutes on a runway are long hours, ideas, culture, nerves, friendships and a huge amount of work that most people never get to see.

I’m genuinely grateful to Cathy, her team and everyone I met that night for making me feel so welcome. I came to Paris expecting to see places — somehow I ended up leaving with stories and people I never expected to meet. 🇫🇷✨
