Mado going off to Montreal for uni (!) Letting go of my first bb feels so similar to the luminescent and somewhat scary first week after giving birth, so many tears and excitement. Can’t wait to see the artist you become Mado, as you grow in the art life. 🫶😭🌟 + A few end of summer glimmers. by @joybroadbent

THE FATES
Meaning - Discarded, broken fates are buried in the desert sand. Lift these out, and find the spiritual in the mundane. Only through imagination will you see the fates, often in derelict, forgotten places. Place a symbolic object somewhere in your house that needs a clearing. Light incense in your workplace.

Take a moment to let your mind be quiet, and see what the fates are trying to tell you. We often see fate as something superstitious and fixed, rather than a colourful weaving we’ve been given. Loving your fate really just means loving your life, but at a soulful level. We have brutally tossed aside the spiritual and rituals in our lives and it’s time to try and see your story from a bigger picture. In Dante’s Inferno he says “Do not be afraid; our fate Cannot be taken from us; it is a gift.” Rather than seeing your external circumstances as a curse, try and see the flip side of them as a gift. Love is our true fate. It is through relationships with others that we find the meaning of our lives and although we cannot control who enters and exits our life, we can choose with whom we spend our time.

Check out our short film “Scent of Worth”, now up on YouTube 🕯️ Link in bio✨

Two sisters craft a perfume infused with the scent of money. One sister abandons the venture, believing there is a dark trick in it and turns to rituals for comfort and guidance. The other sister goes on a perilous psychedelic journey of money mortification, addiction and rot. Meanwhile the money they had buried for the elixir transforms into an entirely new state completing their perfume. As the film unfolds, the layering images mirror the layering of notes in a fragrance.

Winner of Best Experimental Short at Toronto Independent Film Festival 2024
