As a special treat we were able to spend the day with former San Francisco resident Reid Rankin and his wife Pauline. They moved permanently to a village about an hour and a half away from AIX. #friends #aix #france #travelfrance #travel by @joycepolish

We absolutely loved staying in AIX en Provence as our home base. This city was the home of Cezanne who was not recognized for his art until 1902 and he died just 4 years later. Now the city honors him with 2 museums (one was his home) and markings on the ground indicating a walking tour throughout his neighborhood. #cezanne #AIX #aixdeprovence #france #travel by @joycepolish

We took a tour through the home grounds of the Bernar Venet Foundation in Le Muy, France where he displays his extremely large metal sculptures in a gorgeous setting. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. #venetfoundation #france #metalsculpture #bernarvenet #outdoorphotography by @joycepolish

Today we visited a city called Arles and the Lee Ufan Museum was a highlight. They have an ancient Roman Coliseum which is also quite spectacular. #arles #france #southernfrance #arlesfrance #travelfrance by @joycepolish

We hooked up with European Facebook artist friends Beti Bricely and Leon Patchett in AIX and spent an amazing day visiting the stunning Vasarely Museum and then enjoying a meal in the center of town.
Years ago I sold a lot of Vasarely silkscreen prints, but I had no idea of the tremendous amount of varied work he did. He even designed this gorgeous museum where his dramatic large work is displayed. #vasarely #artmuseum #aixfrance #france #Vasarelyart by @joycepolish

When you read the list of ingredients in the food in France you can understand why they don’t have a problem with obesity.
We have been exploring our new location in France. The city of AIX en Provence is a charming city with wonderful food, shops, and beautiful architecture. #aix #aixenprovence #aixenprovence❤️ #france #french by @joycepolish

We were so lucky to be able to get together with various friends every day in Paris. They either moved to Europe or live in Paris.
Ingrid Rouet Jeffrey was originally a Facebook friend and we met her in San Francisco approximately to 10 years ago. Cris Kox and his wife left the US recently and moved to a village outside of Paris just a few months ago. Ruth Cohen moved to Paris a few years ago and moved from Albuquerque. Doug and Andrew moved to Madrid and flew to Paris to enjoy 4 days together with us. Doug and I also celebrated our September birthdays together. #birthday #paris #friends #travel #friendship by @joycepolish
