5 ways to combat overwhelm.
1. Prioritize tasks. Don’t try to do everything all at once. Say no to things that don’t matter
2. Mindfulness- a daily mindfulness practice can help you keep centered. Meditation, breathing, etc.
3. Take breaks- work no more than 50 minutes at a time. Walk away from your desk
4. Get organized- keep your workspace clean and clutter free
5. Self care- exercise, nutrition, and drink plenty of water are just a few

If you are feeling overwhelmed in your life and need support to figure things out, I am taking on new clients in March. Drop the word “life” in the comments below and I will reach out and schedule your free 60 minute strategy session. by @joyonpurpose1

**A Random Calendar Invite Changed Everything**

On September 15, 2025, I had a meeting on my calendar with someone I didn’t know, from an organization I knew almost nothing about.

I almost didn’t think twice about it. Instead, I looked her up, showed up, and listened. By the end of our conversation, I learned she had a role she was looking to fill. Something in me said *pay attention to this.*

The next day, I reached out and said I was interested. They asked if I could come in two days later. I did. A few hours after that conversation, my phone rang: they believed I was the person with the skills they needed.

That contractor role as SkyLink Activation Director at Los Angeles World Airports became the doorway to the role I hold today, Deputy Executive Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Experience.

One year later, I keep coming back to a few things:

✨ You never know what’s around the corner. The meeting you almost skip could be the one that changes your path.
✨ Curiosity is a superpower. Saying “tell me more” opened a door I didn’t know existed.
✨ Act when something sparks. I didn’t wait a week to follow up. I said yes the next day.
✨ Every chapter prepares you for the next. Everything I’d done before was quietly getting me ready for this moment.

I’m deeply grateful for that conversation, to the LAWA team for taking a chance on me, and to everyone who has supported me along the way.

If you’re in a season of waiting, wondering, or starting over, keep showing up. Stay open. Your next chapter might already be on your calendar.

Plot twist: after almost 30 years with Disney, I'm starting a whole new chapter. 🎢

This week I'm at my first Future Travel Experience (FTE) convention — new industry, new faces, new everything. And honestly? It feels amazing to be a beginner again.

Turns out resilience isn't about having it all figured out. It's about showing up curious, saying yes to the next adventure, and trusting that the skills you built will find a new place to shine. ✨

Life doesn't come with a map. It comes with moments — and this is one of my favorites so far.

Here's to new rooms, new possibilities, and staying open to wherever this goes next. 🚀

Big news 🥹 I’ve accepted the role of Deputy Executive Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Experience at LAWA — leading airport experience strategy across LAX!

I’m genuinely humbled. This all started last October when I joined as a consultant on the SkyLink program, not knowing where it would lead. What I found was a team that cares deeply about doing right by our guests and each other.

Almost 30 years in hospitality taught me that great experiences are never an accident — they’re built by people who believe the details matter. Grateful for everyone who shaped that in me, and grateful to LAWA for trusting me with this next chapter.

Here’s to raising the bar. ✈️🙏

Two birds on a wire.

That’s it. That’s the whole scene. And yet — stop for a second and really think about it.

Two living creatures, each with a beating heart, hollow bones engineered for flight, eyes that can see things we can’t even imagine — perched together on a grey morning like they have nowhere better to be.

No agenda. No phone. Just present.

We walk past miracles like this every single day. A bird in flight defies physics. A flower pushing through concrete defies the odds. The sun rising again — 4.5 billion years in a row without missing a single morning — defies our ability to even comprehend that number.

We weren’t made to rush past all of this.

We were made to notice.

These two little souls on a wire this morning reminded me — the miracle isn’t in the extraordinary. It’s in the ordinary things we finally slow down enough to actually see.

Look up today. Look around.

The world is full of moments just like this one, quietly waiting to be noticed. 🌎✨

What miracle have you almost walked past today?

Have a wonderful morning! 🙏 by @joyonpurpose1
