I don’t usually bake cakes (I prefer making pies and tarts), but I just read a fic on AO3 where Jack Abbot offers to give self-defense classes for free but “wouldn’t say no to cake as a gratuity, preferably homemade”.

So I’d be making him this Gooey Cranberry Crumb Cake because it’s one of my favorites! Or even better, maybe I can teach *him* how to bake in exchange for some one-on-one self defense lessons….🤣

I was trying to think of what “American cookie” I’d make for this week’s Signature Bake on GBBO, and it would probably be these Black Sesame White Chocolate cookies.

To make them even more decorative, I could do off-centered vertical and horizontal drizzles of melted white chocolate and then sprinkled some broken up black sesame brittle on top…. taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @joyosity

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! These snowskin mooncakes are inspired by @christinatosi’s chocolate chip passion fruit cake truffles!

The filling is made with vanilla cake mixed with mini chocolate chips & passion fruit pulp until it’s moist enough to shape into balls. For added flavor and color, the outer snowskin layer is made with passion fruit pulp instead of water. 🥮 taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @joyosity

I finally started watching Animal Kingdom and how come no one told me how much food is featured on the show?

It’s so sweet how Smurf bakes something special for the boys after every heist. I would’ve been pretty pissed too if no one ate the apple pie I had made specially for them….

I am not a crafty person but I *can* bake so I’m hoping the crafty Loons will be willing to trade for cookies at Heated Rivalry Night at @fenwaypark on Monday!

I’m thinking of making these Rainbow Rave cookies or Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies, or maybe a combo of both….

🚨 This is not a drill! 🚨 Mango sticky rice is back at @traderjoes!!! It’s not the same as the discontinued version from years ago, but it’s still really good. You can find it in the freezer aisle next to the frozen fruit, and it just takes 1 minute in the microwave.

Pictured is my homemade mango sticky rice which takes a lot longer to make. But it is worth it to waffle the leftover sticky rice for a crunchy-chewy texture! taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @joyosity

I always like to add some dessert when I deliver a Meal Train because I feel like it’s often overlooked but especially appreciated by the recipients! 🍪

For my latest Meal Train, I made @genevieve_ko’s Chewy Brown Butter Cookies but ended up about 20 g short of oats, so I subbed in brewer’s yeast to make them into “lactation cookies” since the meal was for the parents of a newborn. 🍼

The deactivated brewer’s yeast adds a malty flavor, doesn’t work as a leavener, and is perfectly safe for non-lactating people to eat as well. 😂 taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @joyosity
