Brickwork with a bit more character.
Careful detailing, changes in bond and simple moments of texture help turn a typical extension into something much more considered.

It’s often the small details that give a project its identity.

Initial designs on the table ✏️

An exciting first review with our clients, exploring how a series of unique architectural moments can bring real character and individuality to their home.

From dramatic vaulted spaces and exposed structure, to double-height entrances, feature glazing and framed views — it’s often these moments that turn a house into something personal.

Excited to develop this one and share more as it progresses.

There’s something particularly satisfying about seeing the lines on a drawing become the details you can finally touch!

An incredible transformation from a convoluted, mismatched 60s façade — now unified with bold, warm vertical cladding that wraps and frames the existing home, bringing a new rhythm and identity.

The finishing touches were worked through closely with the trades, including the slightly obsessive decision to carry the vertical alignment seamlessly into the soffit.

A small detail. A lot of setting out. One delighted architect… and one slightly less delighted joiner. 😅

Planning approval received for this contemporary extension and remodelling project, designed to create a bright and welcoming family home.

Open-plan spaces can often feel stark, so we introduced a series of architectural and structural features to subtly define different areas without the need for physical partitions. Exposed timber beams, framed openings and carefully considered detailing create a sense of separation, adding warmth, character and a more homely feel throughout.

A simple material palette and bold, clean design choices come together to create a modern family space tailored for years to come.

Planning submitted for this bold and contemporary rural home, designed to embrace its incredible ocean views. A fantastic collaboration with a client whose keen eye for detail and clear vision helped shape every aspect of their forever home.

The scheme draws influence from traditional seafront cladding, reinterpreted through framed dark surrounds and textured materials that reflect the raw beauty of driftwood and the surrounding coastline. Excited to see this one progress.

Planning approval secured.

This sensitive 1960s extension has been carefully reimagined with bold references and architectural detailing that respectfully hark back to the original era. The scheme introduces a generous open-plan, flexible living space, centred around a double-sided fireplace and framed views across the beautiful gardens.

A new two-storey front extension enhances the streetscape, creating a more welcoming and defined frontage. Through several design reviews and planning negotiations, the proposal has been refined into a thoughtful and confident intervention.

The result is a transformed traditional bungalow—now equipped for contemporary living and ready to support the next generation of family life!

Planning submitted!
Our latest proposal: a sensitive annex extension designed to bring family members back under one roof while honouring the site’s rural heritage.

After several thoughtful design iterations with the client, we’ve created an extension that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in its agricultural context — echoing the form, materiality, and quiet simplicity of the original buildings.

A key part of the design is the strong connection to nature, with a wildflower meadow garden that supports health, wellbeing, and moments of calm in later life. A space to live, gather, and grow together — shaped by place and guided by purpose. 🌿✨
