California appetizer before the move! Great time spending time with the fam 🥰 and running outside with perfect weather and sick views! I think some of my most enjoyable moments in life involve an elevated heart rate, sweat, a slight breeze, and a sweet view. I got to experience that just about every day on this trip! I don't run with my phone so I can't share the best views with y'all, but that's kinda how my introverted and slightly selfish self likes it: the best memories are just for me 😀 taken in San Luis Obispo, California by @jpj_ok

First marathon in the books! Great experience, love my parents for flying in to support, and my sister is the absolute best big sis/signmaker (and the mother of the cutest nephew everrr 🥰)
Finished in 3:25, which is right on par with what I was expecting and a result I'm happy with as a starting point! I think there's something really rewarding to me about training really hard for something with the full realization its going to be pretty miserable and hard and not fun at times, but sucking it up and getting it done anyways!
I also think spending so much time running lately has been great for my mental health. I'm in a point of my life that is filled with a great deal of uncertainty, and being able to just lace up the running shoes and go chase some sweat and endorphins is a definite form of therapy for me. It's an "aggressive meditation" 😁 There's no room for anxiety when you are just trying to survive!
Thanks to all who came out on the course to support and cheer, the crowd atmosphere truly helped so much! taken in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma by @jpj_ok

HYROX VEGAS 2025 Men's Pro- 1:11:38
20th out of 104 in the 30-34 age group
73rd out of 383 total Men's Pro competitors
This thing kicked my ass... but overall I'm proud of finishing strong and giving it my best. I started out wayyy too fast and led the field going into the first station (couldn't control that adrenaline!) but then I paid for it. Really just tried to survive at that point until I caught my second wind towards the back half. Being the insanenly competitive person I am, I was pretty dissapointed with my time and finishing position for the first few days after the race. Not to turn this into a pity party, but January frickin' sucked. Crazy anxiety from the law school application process and lots of rejection emails, heartache and an overwhelming feeling of sadness and loneliness in my personal life, and just complete uncertainty with my short term future... the one thing I felt I could control was my fitness and I poured so much energy into training for this thing. I needed a "win" in my life, and this felt like a loss to me. After having a few days to sit with my feelings, however, I've found some perspective. This was my 1st ever solo hyrox. A lot of these top dudes have been doing this for years. I want to be the best at whatever I do, but this sport simply demands a lot of time of consistent, relentless training. Expecting to be "elite" in my first solo race after a few months of hard training was kinda silly. And you know what, my future is bright and I've already been accepted to some kick-ass schools! I love the training that is required for this sport, and I plan on doing a couple of these each year to give myself a goal and a motivation to keep training hard. Ready to keep pushing forward, challenging both my body and mind to be the strongest and fittest it's ever been! 💪 😊

Bucket list sort of thang! Sitting courtside 2 feet away from the Warriors bench was pretty surreal and an experience I'll never forget. Almost made an epic comeback too! Shout out @jake_yunker for the invite 🙌 by @jpj_ok

Life Update- WARNING SOME OF THE SLIDES ARE GRAPHIC
We've had a rough few days with our dog family. Just wanted to put out a post to help process everything and let people know what happened.
As some of you know, Heather and I took in 2 abandoned stray pit bulls in November who wandered into our yard. They stole our hearts instantly and we decided they would be permanent additions to our fam, hassle and financial burden of having 4 dogs be damned. I have never experienced such whole hearted love and snuggliness from any animal before. We figured they were brothers because they were so attached to each other and loved to sleep on top of each other and love on each other.
Unfortunately, this past Wednesday evening Marley (the tan one) viciously attacked Max over a bone they were playing with. I was at work but Heather and her daughter Brynn attempted to break up the fight that lasted about 15 minutes and resulted in some pretty bad wounds to the dogs but would heal over time. It was also pretty traumatic to the humans involved as they had to go to a violent place to try and protect our dogs from each other. One of the things I love about Heather is that she is NOT a violent person, so this was really hard..
We kept the dogs seperated overnight and knew we would have to make a tough decision on Marley in the morning. However, I woke up Thursday morning to Heather screaming that "Its happening again!" and I rushed out of my room to the 2 pit bulls viciously fighting. Somehow the door seperating them got opened, we still dont know how. The scrum is honestly kind of a blur but long story short after a minute or 2 of trying my damn hardest to pull them apart (pit bulls are strong y'all!) I got my arm clamped down on by one of them (couldn't tell you which one its such a blur). It was fairly deep and I could see the fat and was bleeding like a stuck pig. I very nearly passed out and felt really really lightheaded and sick for a few minutes. Heather took me to urgent care while the dogs kept fighting outside (they stopped on their own after a while).
When we got back from the urgent care animal control arrived... (continued in comments) by @jpj_ok
